Hi, Eleanor is back, she is in the bath at the moment, the second one, as she said she has come back home very smelly, Eleanor would like to thank all those who have posted and enjoyed her puggie wuggie thread, she was very pleased I had done some pug posting and loved my Cat Woman joke, I sometimes nick name Eleanor Cat Woman as she sometimes calls me Batman I am sure Eleanor will explain that at some point how that came about.
Once Eleanor has recovered from her three muddy days she will post something, but she needs lots of rest, she has told me how much she loved seeing the Who :D

Hi everyone, I am back now, I have just taken the dogs out, had some soup and toast and done some emails, I would love to thank you all for looking in on my puggie tread and for anyone who has sent in pics, I was amazed at my husband Steve posting some puggie pic, and when I saw the Cat Woman thing he posted I rolled about laughing, he thought it might make me angry but it was totally unexpected I found it fun, OK so now you all know that one of my pet names is Cat Woman, but Steve admitted I sometimes call him Batman, at the moment I am a bit tied and I need a rest now and I will do some more posts when my mind is more alert, had a great time, but it was very muddy and wet, it’s nice to be back and sleep in a nice warm bed :)

Pugs have been called the clowns of the dog world, and were bred with one purpose, to be companion animals to humans. A pug loves a good meal, a soft lap and a soft pillow. They adore their owners and will often follow them from room to room. While they play with other pugs, their true allegiance is to their human companions. They snort, snore, sneeze and make lovely pug sounds so you always know they are near. The care of a pug is quite minimal. They need their ears and nose wrinkles cleaned, toe nails clipped, and some may need their anal glands "expressed" periodically. While they do not need to be brushed for appearances, they do shed quite a bit and might benefit from some periodic grooming. Pugs are NOT outdoor animals and should never be left outdoors unattended. Because of their "pushed in" face, the pug has a shorter breathing passage and is extremely susceptible to extremes of temperature, especially heat. Because of this shorter breathing passage, you must also be careful not to over exert the pug in times of warm or hot weather. While pugs are generally good with children, small children may not be good for a pug. Because of their large, protruding eyes, they are extra susceptible to injury and must be treated gently and lovingly.

The pug is one of the oldest breeds. Its origin is subject to many opinions. Some believe it is a much smaller variation of the somewhat rare French mastiff. Another possibility is that it could be an offshoot of the shorthaired Pekingese or other Oriental breeds. It could also have been the offspring of a small bulldog. Whatever the ancestry, it seems to have originated prior to 400 BC somewhere in Asia. Some believe that the name of the breed comes from the Latin word “pugnus,” which means “fist” because the pug’s head looks like a clenched fist. Another theory is that the name originated from the marmoset “pug” monkeys that were kept as pets and resembled the little dog. One of the essential breed features (especially in China) is the “prince mark.” This refers to the vertical wrinkle on the forehead that looks like the Chinese symbol for prince. The pug has been a pet in many countries by a variety of people – from Buddhist monks in Tibet to European royalty. My Mum and Dad have a couple of Rottweilers, Roland & Rona so I just put a little bit about Rottweilers.
Rottweilers are medium to large, compact dogs known for their solid black, flat-lying coats with clearly defined rust-coloured markings. Although they have double coats, the under coat is very fine and not visible through the outer one which is coarse and of medium length. They are one of the strongest and most powerful dogs in the world for their size. Built for trotting, Rotties are well-balanced and move with a purpose giving an impression of harmony and positivity. For their size, Rotties are very agile and capable of running and jumping with ease.
