Hey did anyone see Shania on CBC last night? She looked sooooooooooooooo pretty she has caramel highlights in her hair now and it looks really good. It was so nice to see her on tv again, I can't wait until Shania feaver on CMT tonight :)

haha here it is (finally). I didn't post any screencaps since everyone can view the video and so many caps have already been posted. Some parts were questionable because she really mumbled at certain parts and it was hard to understand but I'm pretty sure most of them are accurate:

CBC: [Speaking to Camera] Ten years ago Shania Twain turned the country music scene on its head. The Canadian singer became known around the world for her pop-inspired cowgirl confidence. [Gestures fake gunshots with her hands] These are guns. Well after having her son, Eja, and moving to Switzerland with her husband/producer “Mutt” Lange, Shania has retreated from public life, but I caught up with the 42 year old star. We talked to her about her family, her struggle to create music, and her latest release – a new fragrance.

[Cuts to Interview]

CBC: Alright Shania Twain I hold here in my hand, your new endeavour. You already had a fragrance so I was wondering why you wanted to have a second fragrance.

Shania: The first one was a big success, it was a pleasure, it was fun to create and so why not?

CBC: Is it part of being a woman for you?

Shania: Naked is a good word to use. (Sounds like she says “if asked how I feel without my fragrance” but I really have no idea what she says haha) Yeah I feel kinda naked, I definitely feel like I’m missing something I need.

CBC: The influence one has when they achieve your level of success and people are aware that your song was short-listed for Hilary Clinton’s campaign. So I’m wondering if you feel comfortable using your music to back the candidates?

[Cuts back to interview]

Shania: Well I wouldn’t personally pursue that.

CBC: Right.

Shania: It’s not. I’m quite indifferent to be really honest. As long as my music isn’t used for something that I’m against, morally…

CBC: Right.

Shania: Then honestly I’m quite indifferent. Hey, if you like that song great. It doesn’t offend me, it’s a compliment if anything.

All mothers can relate to this, if you’re focusing so much on being a good wife, a good parent, creating a good home atmosphere, you get lost in domesticity and you enjoy it, I enjoy it. I love it. I love those roles that I have, but you also realise that you come second.

Shania: I find those ones very inspiring. Just not creatively inspiring and that’s the difference. [Cuts back to interview] Of course I’m very inspired by that. I get butterflies at the thought of a kiss from my child and there’s so many pleasures that come with that. So I wouldn’t want to miss that either.

CBC: Right. You want it all.

Shania: I want it all, but timing plays a very big role in that. I am personally somebody who cannot have it all at the same time.

CBC: Tell us that headspace that you are in right now in terms of music. Are you feeling very inspired these days, is it a little bit of a struggle? Where are you at?

Shania: Well I do struggle with being a mother; [Cuts back to interview] you know nesting, being a good parent, being you know a good family…a good person. I just try to keep that together [Cuts to clip from Starlight video] and focusing on my song writing is very difficult to do at the same time.

CBC: It must be. For sure.

Shania: It’s just as though it’s two different parts of the brain.

[Cuts back to interview]

CBC: The last question I have is…it’s a strange one. Will you let me smell you?

Shania: [laughs]

CBC: Can I smell you right now?

Shania: I hope it’s still nice strong. It’s still nice on.

CBC: That was really for my husband. He wanted me to.

Shania: [laughs]

CBC: Thank you so much for talking with me. [Shakes Shania’s hand]

Yeah I know what you mean. She did talk about song writing a bit though and it kinda helps explain why there has been such a delay with the album.
