Today November 1st, 2007 marks the sad anniversary of the death of Sharon and Jerry Twain in 1987. I am not sure if this is allowed but I feel that this is something important. If it were not for her parents believing in her talent Shania would have never pursued her dreams.

RIP Sharon and Jerry Twain

Definitely thinking of Shania and her family at this time.

I can tell you that you never forget the dates that your parents died. I am sure it weighed heavily on Shania and her siblings yesterday. This was an unbelievable tragedy. Shania's parents were actually younger than I am and I am still here. They missed a lot of living, like grandchildren and of course the phenomenal success of Eilleen.

Thanx for the reminder Maria.

I was not on the forum on the 1st. I was planning to come on and make a thread if someone hadn't, but I wasn't on. I deffinatley did not forget about this date. I was thinking of Shania and her family yesterday.. afterall their deaths did change her life a whole lot but I think it made Shania the strong person she is today. I hope Shania knows her parents, Sharon and Jerry are looking down on her and so proud of where she is at today in life and will always be with her.

R.I.P Sharon and Jerry Twain.

Me too Alicia. Just when they were finally getting their feet on the ground- they die. That is so heartbreaking. It just goes to show you how fragile life really is.

I'm sure many thoughts were in Eilleen's mind this past week. Gosh, 20 years, how time moves so quickly. A tragedy it was and watching and listening to Shania over the years, you can tell how much she appreciated their love and dedication and she truly loves them and thinks of them often. I feel in my heart they are watching over their fine wonderful daughter from a special place giving her guidance.

In memory of Jerry and Sharon.

I can't believe that I took so long in replying to this thread, but I wanted to add something, even though it's late.

This is truly a heartbreaking story. It's so awful that right when they were getting on track again, and were doing really well, something like this had to happen. My dad died when I was really young, and no matter how much time goes by, you never get over that or stop thinking "I wish Dad could have been here to see that." Sometimes you can just tell though, that they're still watching over you and protecting you. So with that said, Rest in Peace Sharon and Jerry Twain, you will be missed always. :(
