:) Hey...
With Anne Murray's duet album coming up I started to think what it would be like if Shania released a duet album of her own...
I always think that she would be GREAT on a duet with Bryan Adams... They just have musical chemistry that is very rare and cool...
What do you guys think?

I would love to hear a duet album! Hopefully she will after the new one. And I would just love to hear a duet with Bryan. I would also love a duet with Celine, Stevie Wonder or Sting.. ;)

She recorded Coat of Many Colors for Dolly's Tribute CD, so maybe Dolly will return the favor and sing on one of her albums one day. Shania and Stevie Wonder performed Superstition together on a TV special and they talked about possibly recording something in the future, so who knows? During a 2005 interview, when Shania was promoting her first perfume, she told Ben Mulroney that she would love to do a dance album, an accoustic album, an album of all her classic favourite songs and an album of duets with all her favourite artists. I think Bryan Adams would be first choice of a duet partner.

Yes, I remember her saying that. The only thing I really find weird but cool at the same time is the dance album :p But everything she does is great, so a dance album will be great too.

Trying to think of living names Shania has mentioned over the years that she is fond of or names already who sang with her that I think Shania would ask to be a part of a duets album:
Also I'm not saying that "I" would personal want all these names on a Shania duet album, but the ones I feel Shania would like having sing with her:

I agree with you there. I'll probably change my mind once she releases new music, but it's just been so long since she's come out with new songs that the thought of her redoing some of her other songs again makes me a bit crazy haha. :faint:

Not a bad list, I think I could go for pretty much all of them. With today's electronic wizardry, she could also duet with Elvis, Roy Orbison, Patsy Cline, and maybe Ray Charles. Also, a few others still around are Tom Jones, Tony Bennett, and then how about the Eagles? They started out as Linda Ronstadt's band. While I'm mentioning it, why not Linda herself. She is still a great singer and I think she would definitely be a good match. Finally, there is Carole King. She is one the greatest songwriters and singers of our time. I'm sure Shania has a lot of respect for her and would love to sing with her.:)

But I don't think I would want her to do a duets albums. Not at least for now? Maybe 20 years later or something like that. Of course many of those people might not be available any more, but she could do like Anne Murray with Dusty Springfield - use old tracks.

Personally, I'd like to hear a Shania/Garth Brooks duet, Shania/Martina McBride, Shania/Paul Brandt or Shania/Lonestar. I can imagine Shania and Martina crooning to Martina's 'In My Daughter's Eyes' or 'God bless the Child'. That'd be fantastic. I know this one's a bit out in left field but also Shania/Josh Groban. Maybe if we pester her enough to do a duets album she might do it....;)
