Aw, that's very sweet of Shania. She took time out of her busy day to send us all a nice message and wish us the best for the holidays and the new year. :) We're lucky she cares so much about us fans and appreciates us. So thanks Shania ! We wish you a very merry Christmas and a great new year aswell. I'm sure it will be a great one especially with that new Cd. :D Can't wait.

Somehow I doubt Shania Twain is on MySpace, if she is then that is big slap in the face for the Shania Twain Centre, as no such message has been sent to her fans on the Timmins based site. I am pretty sure Shania would not go through a 3rd party to say Merry Christmas, and would avoid exactly this situation by not favouring one web site (say the so called 'official fan club') over any other.
When Shania is not in the public eye (as now) I suspect she would not be posting things like that on the internet, but spending her private time enjoying a more normal lifestyle.
Of course if I am wrong, then Hey Shania what about saying hi to us all here, and on the Shania Boards and the STC site, and the Dutch Site, French Site, UK site.... and so on...... ;) Merry Christmas everyone, Enjoy some Shania Music over Christmas, that is a present no one can beat!
I had thought about posting something similar to your post, Tom, but didn't want to sound like a Christmas grouch. These words don't sound like Shania to me. She is not normally that gushy. That doesn't mean Shania didn't write these words but to me it just doesn't sound like her. I agree that if Shania wants to greet her fans, she could have gone to the STC site where the management really cares about her and her fans or to this site where the most fans can be found.

Does someone have to sound the same all the time? People change all the time, style of clothing, make-up, attidude, and saying stuff like I love you for the first time in 20 years. Just because it doesn't sound like Shania it don't mean that it is not her. But yes I do agree that why would she just pick one web site or source to say Merry Christmas, Why wouldn't she just say it on tv or the radio for A Chirstmas Special or something.

I agree with you. However, there is no evidence to suggest otherwise so why not believe it?
The only reason I'm a little sceptical is that it has come through MT and then Angie. For obvious reasons, I have trust issues with MT. Like most things in the OFC it has come out in a half assed manor which makes me believe it isn't 100% authentic. It's sad that it has now come to this, people doubting what the OFC says :rolleyes:

As I said, I don't fully believe it, however we don't know for sure that is or isn't real. So to make my point again, that is the sad thing, the fans don't trust the people running her OFC.

It may have been just a made up remark, but if it is in anyway from Shania herself, in all fairness even if you don't agree with the OFC or her myspace page, doesn't she have an obligation through her record label to post such a message on her OFC and record label run myspace page before posting anywhere else that is unofficial?
It is kind of strange that such a message wasn't posted on her official website for all her fans.
Regardless, let's just be merry and joyful. Merry Christmas to Shania and her family and to all the fans and friends who admire this great lady.

Yes my timing SUCKS Roger, and I am sorry if I have upset any Shania fans, Hey believe what you wanna believe. It is difficult for me to get any Christmas Spirit as I type this at 4pm in my BOILER SUIT after a call out to the Engine Room to fix an instrumentation fault but there you are.... HEY I MAY BE WRONG so smile everyone and Merry Christmas to you all... Tom at Sea off Japan someplace, going back to bed before my normal day starts at 0730 later today. I don't want to be whingeing, but I find that Christmas greetin a slap in the face of all fans. This is such a random message that I have to say, if Shania wrote it herself (which I doubt, I believe it was some employee or intern of Mercury's) than I don't care whatsoever. Sorry Shania, but for your fans who are faithful to you despite your complete absence from the public (ok, we've had a few appearances) and your disgusting official fan club you could and should have put in a bit more effort. My respect to you as an artist, but a three-liner just doesn't do anything for me, on the contrary, it makes me angry and doubt whether you really care about your fans...

I love Xmas and that message surely didn't ruin it! It was a message (posted by Shania or not, don't care) because I know she surely wishes us happy holidays. Shania is a very sweet woman and very close to her fans and even if she didn't post that message herself, she must've told someone else to post it, under her name, to wish us merry christmas... And that's good enough

I think you're right.
All this talk about "anger" and if Shania "really cares about her fans" is a bit extreme. What else does she have to do? Sit to dinner with each individual fan she has one by one at a time?
