View Full Version : A Question of BEAUTY

Okay, so there are beautiful women out there. Lists, needless as they are, circulate, and men drool. Don't deny it lol!
Well, I'd like to post some pics to show that not all the celebrities you see are as glamourous as they are portrayed. Sure, there ARE some who are naturally beautiful. Others NEED alot of work to look as good as they do.
To the guys, go ahead and fantasize about these women. But know them for what they are, a false image made specifically to sell you what they have. Most importantly, take a GOOD look at all the REAL beautiful women in your lives. Look past what they look like and see them for who they really are. Beauty IS in the eye of the beholder. A beautiful woman comes in many different shapes and sizes, and encompasses more than what is on the surface. Keep that in mind, and you WILL find the perfect woman for you.

Let's start with one of this Forums favourites - Eva Longoria

It's amazing what alot of make-up can do. She's not unattractive to my eyes, but I don't see the hot pin up guys pine for.

Amen:bow::bow: dang world, some people are soooo shallow. Drives me nuts. I wish people would just see everyone for their personality, energy and ability to love. So many people with beautiful personalities are lost in the sea of "uglyness" because they aren't model-type. It's a shame.
Great thread, Terri.

I'm sick of all the hoopla about how people should look. Half these women starve them selves, or are junkies, need surgury, and lots of make up. It's just plain wrong. Real women, teens, and young girls think this is normal ! It sickens me!

Me too. If you walk through my school, you'll see girls flaunting their orange-tan, skinny, bodies, covered in designer clothes and topped off with a $300 purse. What a way to wanna be!

Wow, it's that way here too with some people. This one girl really feels like she has to flaunt her body. She goes as far as to wear tops that can hardly be considered tops because they show so much...

The thing is though, at least wear I live, you see girls do that too, and not all of them are considered thin. I don't find it attractive in the least. How can guys be attracted to that?
BTW- I'm not trying to diss the men here, or any man. We women here don't post lists, or pics about men. It's not our thing. I just want to point out that there's two sides to every story. I understand how most men think, and act, for them it's as natural as breathing. But there ARE limits to be set. I want to give the men something to consider - though I'm sure all of them here are gentlemen, right?
The guys need to hear OUR side of the story. We deserve the respect.

Well, Terri, it's skin. And sometimes a little bit of butt. Men like butt, apparently. If you go on Youtube, you can find these girls who have purposely gained weight and swung it around on the camera (literally pulling up their shirts and rubbing all over it) and guys drool. It's disgusting.

I don't get the whole label thing, for men or women. Do they do it to be cool?
I shop at thrift stores. I find clothes that are unique to ME. I don't need to spend wads of cash to feel good about myself.
" Victoria's Secret. Well, their stuffs reeeal nice. Oh but I can buy the same damn thing on a Walmart shelf half price, and still look sexy. Just as sexy as those models on TV. No I don't need no designer tag, to make my man want ME!"
My fave line from Gretchen Wilson - Red Neck Woman. Smart woman!

You are the first male to post here ( I don't know if that's good or bad! lol!)
I'd be very interested to hear the male point of view on this issue. And I have a question as well : Do men go to these kind of extremes to catch a women's eye?
No! I need to find that dang essay...
Hmmm, I hadn't noticed! lol :D
Well my point of view...many men are jerks about this sort of thing. Though I don't have experience in this matter since I never dated or anything. It doesn't matter to me what a female looks like. Its the person that is important, not the look.

But seriously, what does a man see, or think when they look at a beautiful celebrity? And what do men find beautiful? Personality counts for sure, but you don't know what it's like until you talk to her.

I know it does hon. It kills me that you, and most other women, go to such severe extremes. They should'nt have to be something they're not, what society is dictating them to be. Each person is a unique, and beautiful individual. Does having such beauty really make one happy? I don't think so. Women who don't have cover girl looks always get ostracisezd because they aren't considered "normal". And woman who have the looks are hated for it. There's no happy medium.
People have considered me to be beautiful, and it's flattering, yes. But people have never seen me for me. It's caused more problems than I can count. I'd rather be considered as friendly, fun, or intelligent. I DON'T like being judged by my looks. Maybe that's why I seem to brush off those remarks. It makes me feel vain, cause I see beauty in everyone. It's not how I consider myself to be.

Sorry but the truth over here in Britain is "looks rule";) that just shows you how dumb women and men are over here, they think of good looks first then money second mostly:D
My definition of beautiful is much different than the norm. I see beautiful as a mix of the following: nice, friendly, caring, intelligent, freaky:D, strong and inspiring.
Also, when people say "look at this girl, do you think she's pretty?" or "is this guy handsome?" I often have to think about my answer. I can say "well, yeah, I guess..." but normally it comes out as an "I don't know...maybe....???" because I don't "see" people right away. As I get to know them, and like them more, not only do I start to like them as a person but I start to see them as more beautiful, inside and out. So, if I had just seen one of you post your pic, I may not have thought much of you. But now, if I know you more (and like you) I guarantee I think something of you when I see your pics, if that makes sense.

This may sound odd, but I've considered people who are too beautiful to be ugly. It's true! Like, it's unnatural or something.
