So far I've only heard samples, but you know you're gonna get quality music from Hardy. You can clearly see why he was picked to be in Shania's band.

Angie posted this info on another message board

Here's a message from Hardy...

Would you like to have one of my songs from my debut solo CD? Well, you can. It's EASY and it's FREE.

My record label, MidSummer Nights Dreams, wants to give it to you.

Please email them at: midsummer101@mac.com

They will send you the FREE SONG. It's that easy.

And while you're at it, come be my friend at my myspace page (www.myspace.com/theoneandonlyhardy)!!

Hardy

Oh yeah ... the name of the song is "Wanna Know All Of You."

In case you're one of those people who likes to read the credits on the CD liner notes, I wrote this song with Shania Twain's fans in mind. I produced this song to sound more country than the other songs on my CD. I even got most of Shania's band to perform on the song. Here are the credits:

Hardy: piano, vocals, keys, percussion & programming
Mike Childers: drums
Andy Cichon: bass
Marc Muller: guitars
Brent Barcus: guitar solos
Mixed by Cory Churko

I hear the influence of Elton John and Toto... and, occasionally - almost like Ray Wilson (Stiltskin, Genesis).. also reminds me of Mike Rutherford's Mike & The Mechanics....

I listened to it watching two beauties sleeping... 3 times. Lovely. Very easy to adapt & find similar feelings... I'm proud to tell everyone, that Hardy's album was my daughter's very first listen... and it's good.

I'll cherish the moment forever - Thank You, Hardy - for providing me with the
soundtrack to allow the listener to concentrate on the most valuable objects around us... Those, we love to bits.

Best - and most honest thing I've heared in years... some artists should take lessons from this... Thanks again. Hardy - you've bloody done it well..! ;)

umm.... The first, the last & the in-between... heh... No, I haven't really listened to it with a really critical ear... just been enjoying the sound & feel...hmmm... I think Sad Song stands out pretty clear... yep.

Congratulations Jussie and family!!
Those first months are tiresome but magical. Remember to enjoy, since thinking back - they are too soon over... :hugs:

Received my copy today, and I must say that I am impressed.

It is a funny thing how you can never really say what makes an album to stand out from the rest, eh? In this case the years of professionalism, hard labour and enthusiastic love of music make a unique combination, but then again in many records they do without so much impact on me...

Sometimes even pros that you have admired for years, doesn't do it everytime and with every project.

Some honest feeling or the freshness in sound...? Or whatever. Luckily the music is not only combination of chords, smartness of lyrics, expert musicians, etc. it just IS greater than life.

And matter of taste of course, but this "labour of love" of Hardy's get A+ from me.

Futhermore, this is a perfect example what the "new age" without big production companies could mean in the music industry in the future.
Without their
- tight schedules and budgets
- categorizing and condemning musicians to studio/tour/star quality forever
- hard and sometimes rather ridiculous and desperate try of uniqueness and "new sound"
things like this can start to grow and travel from the back porch in Tenessee to the front porch in Finnish Lapland and totally feel like fitting in the forest, hills, swamps and millions of mosquitos... :D

I hear the influence of Elton John and Toto... and, occasionally - almost like Ray Wilson (Stiltskin, Genesis).. also reminds me of Mike Rutherford's Mike & The Mechanics....
- Sad Song is like Billy Joel when younger and at his peak...
- All For The Girl made me to do "the Stevie Wonder head-swing" without noticing what I was doing at first... :funny:

Etc. This truly is a honest and fun album. Without tricks and too complicated hooks.

Like 'Wanna Know All Of You', 'Victoria' and 'All Yours Now' are very upbeat.

'Long Long Way From Here' is pretty good as well. 'Sad Sad Song' reminds me a bit of Elton John's 'Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word'.

I finally learned who Toto was.

Randall Waller sang us a song named Rosanna or something like that, at the fan convention in Timmins in maybe 2005. It was an awesome song and Randall did a long, mesmerizing performance. After that, we all stood or sat around for a short time, coming slowly, maybe even a bit reluctantly, back into reality.

Like the socially slow person I can sometimes be, after growing up on the farm, I was the first to speak, and asked Randall if he wrote that song. He replied "I WISH!". And he may have mentioned the performer, who I did not recognize.

Then in recent months, while unlaxing from my projects, and enjoying one of those half hour, non-stop commercials, advertising great music, I saw Toto performing this hit song.

Even though the video clip was only of "the hook" part of the song, it was very impressive. It's strange how some commercials can be even better than the TV shows, if done well.

There is more than one thread here about Hardy's CD.

A bit hard to keep straight, which are on what topic, for those of us who are not able to read here on a frequent basis.

This thread seems to have the reviews.

So here is a link to my preliminary review in another thread.

It's post #35 in that thread.

Hardy wrote on his MySpace blog that many people bought autographed copies of his CD. He was stunned and shocked!! He also said how humbled, honored and grateful we have made him feel.
