Montano De Oro State Park

If you have ever seen the movie "Sideways" you know that the setting is California's central coast. Just northwest of Solvang perhaps an hour away http://www.picnik.com/app#/editthere is a gem of a place called Montano De Oro State Park. I hope you will enjoy.

No, no no. This is the worst picture of the bunch. Thanks for the compliments. Actually I was up until 1 in the morning trying to transfer the photos from picnik. I want it so that one doesn't have to double-click so I'm going to try photobucket when I come back tonight (PST). UNLESS :uhh::eek::(:o:dunno::hmmm::confused::bonk: the reason why they don't come up big is BECAUSE the camera used was not digital. If that's the reason, let me know and I won't go into photobucket and just download from my computer.

I'd die to live close to a place like this, in fact one of my dreams has been living on the beach :D

Alex another thing nice about this place is that it's not too crowded. A lot of people don't know about it even though it's a state park. That may be because it is about 5 to 8 miles from the nearest freeway. The 2 times I visited it (in the Fall & Spring) it was free.

The water is too cold for swimming but if you like to surf there is an area nearby.

I love water cold no matter if its not allowed to swin I've swan in north with almost iced water so imagine :p

Alex, the rocks would probably kill you because the waters are very turbulent. The first photo that says "Morro Rock" shows the strand which is where people go into the water. The last photo was my favorite and is the last photo. I'm going to go back and redo all the other ones, including the Yosemite thread. I seemed to have lost the first photo of Morro Rock so that's going to stay the same.

I know it George, it's pretty dangerous to swin in this zone, I said that in kidding mood, of course I won't swim just in case in the right area, I've had a bad experience like when I was a child in Acapulco, there's a place called La quebrada seemed to this one, pretty dangerous because of the exceed number of rocks then imagine with the strong water there ;)

Sorry Alex. It took a long time to upload the Big Sur photos to photobucket and besides I ended up watching the Dodgers game. It was a good game, 4-4 tie until the 11th when Hanley Ramirez homered to win it for Florida. I also got stuck watching a new reality TV program - "America's Greatest Dog." I have to go now but hopefully when I come back I can get it all together. Maybe about 7 hours from now. Later.
