A Shania Canada Day Tale [Archive]

Ok..I will start it because I am bored! ok?
(and i do not know anything about canada day http://www.shaniaforums.com/redface.gif oh well here is goes)

Shania rolled out of bed in the middle of the night and made her way to the fridge for a late night snack. She fumbled around as she tried her hardest to manuver around all the obsticles in her way of getting to the food which she desired. She had had a craving for a good tofu shake and some fresh strawberrys, and what brought this on? It is all due to the life that was growing in side her. A first child which she and her husband, Mutt, were so extatcic and joyful about. Shania, her brown hair up in a bun and a light pink cotton tied around her at her ever growing belly, finaly got to the fridge and opened it up. She got all the ingredients and blended them up to make the perfect shake. Then she heard a noise and turned around to see who it was.
It was Mutt with Tim ,their loyal and wonderful dog, at his side. Mutt stood there looking at her, with his blue sweat pants and white t-shirt on, and did not say a word, he just smiled.
"How long have you been standing there?" asked Shania as she sat down at the table to enjoy her drink.
"Not very long" he replied as he moved to sit next to her.
"Did I wake you when I got up?" Shania asked a little worried.
"No,beautiful..you didn't...he did." said Mutt pointing to Tim "Tim woke me up when he went after you." he gave a small laugh.
"Sorry" said Shania.
"It's ok babe" asid Mutt reasuringly."I will be up like this all the time when the little one comes."
Hearing the mention of their child, a smile spread across both of their faces........

Shania tilted her head up at him and pulled at the elastic band holding her hair up, letting it tumble down in waves around her slim shoulders, layers of light auburn hair falling perfectly into place. He laughed at her and leaned over to tousle the hair that had fallen. She playfully swatted his hand away and pulled it back up into a messy bun her hazel eyes sparkling.

"I can't wait" She said, a certain innocence and determination creeping in her eyes, "I've waited so long to have a child of my own."

"I know, its like a dream" he replied, moving closer to let a hand fall lightly on her protruding stomach. She let her head fall softly to his shoulder, her hair catching the light and brushing his face. He let a smile tug at the corners of his mouth and played with the strands that fell out of her ponytail holder.

..and for that moment everything was silent and perfect. They just sat there for 5 minutes. Then Shania loked at the clock.
"It's geting late babe" said Mutt.
"Yeah" Shania responded.
"You are probably very tired..we should go up stirs to bed...you need your rest." he said as he kissed her on her head. Shania got up slowly and so did mutt. He took her by the hand and they walked up stairs to bed. Mutt layed down and shania next to him.
" I love you" said Shaina.
"I love you too" said Mutt. He put his arms around her then thy fell asleep.

Mutt went downstairs to find Shania sitting at the kitchen table, almost in a daze, her hands wrapped around a steaming coffee cup and her eyes distant. He cleared his throat inconspicuously and she turned around to see him standing there.

"How do you always manage to come in so quiet?" She asked a small smile spreading slowly across her face.

"I don't know, I just do." He moved slowly across the room without another word and sat down beside her.

"Whats wrong?" She asked, her expression serious.

"Why would there be anything wrong?" he shot back avoiding her questioning eyes.

"Forget it, nevermind. I'm going to go take a shower now." She got up abruptly from the table and walked deliberately towards the stairs. He moved quickly to follow her and caught up easily, resting his arms around her.

"Woody, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be like that. I just..." he trailed off looking into her hazel eyes as they filled up with tears. He pulled her close to him and she allowed him to hold her, her face buried in his chest.

"I guess this whole week has put us all a little on edge." she said quietly her eyes sadder than ever before.

.."I know...they are out there...we can not see them but they are out there..cameras ready" said Shania"cant they just leave us alone!"

Mutt held her a little tighter.
"Hey..I have a idea.....Canada Day s coming soon right?" said Mutt.

"yeah" said Shania, with a kind of knowing smile spreading across her face as she looked up at him.

"well" he continued "Want to go to Canada and visit your family?"

Shania now had a huge smile."oh..love."she said giving him a big hug "Thank you..that would be wonderful." shania started to run up the stairs to go to pack, but mut grabed her by the arm and said "Go sit down Woody..i will go pack for us ok?"

She gave him a short kiss and said "Thank you love"

About a hour past and Mutt came down to.....

I agree twigdancer...I like the stories when they are more realistic. Can we keep ourselves out of this one too? just a thought...

Shania had already taken her shower and was now making breakfast for Mutt who had just finished the packing and was making his way to the kitchen.

"The packing is all..." Mutt stopped in mid sentence when he saw Shania cooking for him in the kitchen. He stood there and watched her with her big belly, as she was pouring the pancake batter on to the pan.

"...done?" Shania said as she turned her head to look at Mutt. She winked at him...and then smiled.

"yeah" replied Mutt as he walked into the kitchen. He put his arms around Shania and then...

Lucila yes I think we should keep ourselves of this one okay...That's what I was thinking okay here I go.

Shania put the Pancakes on the plates. Then Mutt and Shania sat down for Breakfast. Soon after breakfast Mutt sat Shania down and he went to clean up the breafast dishes. He didn't want Shania to work to hard.

Mutt put the luggage in the car. Then Shania came out and locked the door....

As Shania was moving to get in the passengers seat, Mutt snuck up behind her and to her suprise, lifted her right off the ground!

She let out a squeal of delight and yelled "Mutt put me down!" He laughed evily and she fought him jokingly. Finally he lowered her to the ground, in the process whirling her around so she was facing him. She tilted her head to see him, her eyes squinting ever so slightly in the bright sun.

"I love you, you know that right?" She asked throwing her arms around his neck.

He kissed her easily, "Of course I do" he replied looking down so that his eyes met hers, and put his hand lightly under her upturned chin. "Now come on or we'll miss our flight" he said hurrying her to the passenger side.

He opened the door for her and she sat down in the deep leather seat. She smiled as him as he closed the door and ran to the other side of the car.
"We got everything?"asked Mutt.
"Luggage?"said Shania
"Check"
"Doctors Number"
"check"
"Dogs with Phil"
"anythink you can think that we need that we dont have" asked Mutt
"ummmm..plane tickets" said Shania.
"oops" said Mutt as he ran out of the car. Shania was laughing as mutt came back.
"Ok..I think we have everything taken care of." said Shania
"yep..here we go" said Mutt as he put his foot on the gas and they took off down the road to the air port....

Then they finally got to the airport. Ray helped them withe their Luggage as they abored on the areoplain. Mutt and Shania sat at the the back. Shania huddled up to Mutt. Finally they got to Timmins Ontatrio Canada. The Plain landed safely down. Carrie-Anne was waiting for them...

"LEENY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Carrie-Ann's voice carried halfway across the airport as she ran to greet her sister. Shania's eyes widened and she put a finger to her lips.

"shhh...not so loud! I don't want to be recognized." Shania glanced around, and not seeing anyone look at her turned her full attention back to her younger sister with a smile. "Its great to see you though."

"You too!! I can't believe you're so big!!! I almost didn't recognize you!!" Carrie spoke quickly and excitedly. Then as thought she regreted the words that had just left her lips, her eyes widened and she put a hand over her mouth "sorry!" Shania had to laugh at her exlaimation.

"Its ok!" Shania smiled and Mutt put his arm protecitvely around his wife as they began to walk, carrie talking full of excitement the whole way.

Carrie said "Leeny, It's great to have you and Mutt here for awhile to get away from it all." Shania said "Tell me about it, it's been a week of speed bumps." Carrie said "Speed bumps? You and Mutt are doing okay?" Shania said ?"Of course we are doing fine. I meant with the cameras chasing us. What do they want from us?" Carrie said "Your fans want pic's of you." Shania said "I know but I could have gone and done a press realise but it's too late now." Carrie said "No it's not you could still do it Leeny." Shania said "Well I'll see about that." Shania recieved more than a few stares as they made it through the whole airport scene basically unscathed. They must have looked like a pretty strange group, Shania figured. A woman six months pregnant who looked like Country Superstar Shania Twain, someone who, three years ago, was a houshold name. A rock star type of man, and a young woman, basically pretty, blonde and petite. It wasn't until they had nearly reached Carrie's car that they were recognized, or more accurately put, Shania was recognized. Luckily for her, the young man only wanted an autograph and Shania, always gracious, gave him one willingly. He smiled and thanked her and they both went their separate ways.

"You're soo sweet Woody!" Mutt pulled Shania close to him and he could smell her sweetness. She hudled close to him and walked in his rythem, looking up at him with adoring eyes.

"Y'all!! Get a room!!" Carrie said, with a mischevious smile on her face. Shania turned to her and stuck out her tongue, in the process wrinkling her nose and looking like a child. Carrie looked at her closely, she looked so pretty. Her shoulder length auburn hair tumbled in soft, shiny waves, perfectly complimenting her sparkly hazel eyes which peeked out under full, dark lashes. Her nose was her only imperfection, a small bump in the middle, but that was what gave it character, that would otherwise be lost on her perfect features. She was so tiny, 5'3", that her swollen belly seemed too big for her small frame to handle under her maternity top. Although she was nearly 36, she looked like a young girl, pretty and innocent, her cheeks flushed with happiness. Noticing Carrie looking at her, she smiled, revealing perfect straight white teeth and dimples.

....they slowly worked their way to Carrie's car where her husband,Jeff, was with the car started waiting for them. When he saw them Jeff jumped out of the car and ran to them. He gave Shania a hug careful not to squeeze his sister-in-law too hard then gave her a quick peck on the cheek.
"Welcome back" he said.
He looked over his shoulder and saw Mutt standing there with his hands in his pockets slightly rocking back and fourth on his feet.
"Hey big guy" said Jeff as he let out a hand to Mutt. Mutt reached his hand and they shook. Jeff pulled him in and gave him a
pat-on-the-back hug.
"Hey man" said Mutt. He moved to Shania who was standing by the car putting on her warm green cotton coat.
"Cold babe?" he asked as he came up behind her quietly and enveloped her in his arms.
"I was." she said as she leaned back against him.
"Ya guys ready to leave?" asked Jeff who was starting to put Shania and Mutts bags into the trunk of the green Ford Explorer which seemed new.
"Hey man" started Mutt as he let go of Shania and walked to Jeff."You dont have to do that man..." but he was inturupted by Jeff.
"You guys get in the car..I can do this...get in, its freezing out here."said Jeff as he loaded the car.
"OK..thanks." said Mutt as he got Shania and they went into the backseat of the car. As they closed the door Shania leaned her head on Mutts shoulder and gave a small yawn and closed her eyes. Mutt gave her a soft kiss on the top of her head.
"You can sleep woody." he said"You need all the rest you can get."
"Thank you love" she murmured and gave a small sigh, snuggled closer to get comfortable, then fell asleep. Mutt just looked at her.
Carrie and her husband came to the car and opened the door. Carrie looked back at Shania and Mutt.
"She out?" whispered Carrie softly and quietly.
Mutt just noded.
"She must be very tired." whispered Jeff. Both carrie and Mutt nodded. carrie and Jeff shut their doors as quietly as they could and they left for Shania and Mutts hotel. They drove for about 10 minutes and then they reached the Hotel. They were staying at the Red Lion hotel which was a huge 5 star hotel right im the town. They pulled up and some men in red uniforms and they took Shania and Mutts luggage up to their room.
Mutt whispered to carrie.
"Hold on..I will go check us in then come back and get her." they nodded and Mutt left. About 5 minutes later Mutt returned and opened Shanias door.he slowly scooted her to the door and put his arms underneath her to lift her up. She awoke for a second a little dazed.
"We are here babe..you can go back to sleep." he said as he took her out of the car and shut the door. He looked in the window.
"We will see you guys tomorrow ok?" he whispered.
"Sure" they said"Get some rest, bye" and they drove off down the street. Mutt carried Shania through the hotel and recieved a few looks from people..but no one came near them, and Mutt was grateful for this. He walked down the hall to their room and he opened the door slowly. As he walked in he could see the basket of fruit that was sitting on the table for them to enjoy. Mutts smiled as he walked in to the bedroom careful of the sqeeking of floorboards benath them. he set her down softly in bead and took off her shoes and heavy jacket and ponytail, to make her more comfortable. he tucked her in smileing at her as he watched her breathe. he kissed her and whispered..
"I love you" in her ear. Then he snuck in the other side and took of his shoes and snuggled in next to her. And as if she were awake, she turned to him and rested her head upon his chest and slept. He held her close and slept too....

Shania opened her eyes and glanced at the clock, wondering how long she'd been sleeping. She didn't even remember coming into the hotel room or anything, but seeing Mutt laying asleep beside her warmed her heart. Careful not to wake him, she eased off the bed slowly and went to the bathroom to splash some water on her face and put on a little makeup. She had been going sans makeup for quite some time now and was starting to feel not as pretty anymore. She let her mind drift off and before she knew it Mutt was beside her his hands circling her stomach. She looked up at him and he kissed her quickly on her smiling lips.

"Come on Woody. I promised Carrie that we would stop by to see everyone." He guided her towards the door, only stopping to help her with her coat and shoes. She used a butterfly clip to pull her shoulder length hair back and slipped her arm through his as they made their way out the door and to the red pickup truck they had rented.

...As tehy walked they were met with many eyes of awe and wonder.They smiled and gave a slight wave as if not they should or should not say hello to the superstar couple. Sania and Mutt made their way to the truck without any problem, and Mutt helped her into the passenger side. After she got in he shut the door and ran to the other side of the truck. he hopped in andlooked at his beautiful wife and a warm smile spread across his face as he saw her looking at her ever growing life inside her. He put his had over hers and started up the truck with ease. Shania smiled.
They drove down the street to Carries house which took about 10 minutes. As they got there Mutt helped Shania out of the car asnd put his am aroundher as they walked up to the door. Carries house was slightly victorian looking, it had a odd uniquenes to it with the shutters acros the windows and the green vines climbing up the side of the house. As Mutt rung the door bell they heard the voice of a girl cry out
"There here..Ill get it."
Shania could hear the footsteps getting closer as the door opened. Shania looked at the girl..it was here niece.
"Hi aunty" she said as she went to hug Shania. Shania gave her a hug.
"How are you sweety?" said Shania.
"Great...and you guys." she said as she went to hug Mutt.
"Were great" he said.
All three walked in to the house together. There they were met by Jeff and Carrie. They shared hugs all around.
"Good to see you again sleeping beauty." said carrie as she hugged Shania.
"Sorry...why didn't you guys wake me up?" said Shania.
"You need you rest."said Jeff as he hugged her....

Shania laughed.
"I think Mutt needed it more than I did! He slept longer than me!"
"I had to carry you a long way!! I was tired!!" Mutt said, sounding indignant.
"mutt!!" Shania playfully smacked his arm and he caught her hand, holding her in place. "fine fine!! i'm done" she said laughing. Mutt released her hand and drew her into him, pulling her inside.

Inside she was greeted enthusiastically by her two brothers and their girlfreinds/wives (i think they have them ??) who were all very excited to see Shania. Everyone began talking and laughing excitedly at once.

..."Calm down everyone" said carrie with a small chuckle."Let them breathe".
Mutt took Shanias coat off of her and hung it on the wooden coat rack.
"Thanks love."she said to him.
Mark came up to her and gave her a hug. "welcome back sis" he said.He held up a hand and motioned for a woman that Shania did not recgonize to come closer.
"Leeny..remember the woman I told you I was dateing?" he asked.
"Yeah...Jennifer"said Shania.
"This is her." he said as the woman walked to them. Shania gave her a small hug.
"Congradulations" said Jennifer.
"Thanks." said Mutt and Shania in unison.
Mutt held his hand out and Jennifer took it in hers "Hi" he said as he shook her hand.
"Hi" she said back."Nice to meet you both...I am a big fan of both of your music."
"Thanks" they said again. Then Darryl came up with his wife.
"Hey" said Shania as they hugged.
"Welcome back home sis" said Darryl.
After a few minutes of hugging and reaquainting everyone sat down by the fire. they were talking about life.....but it seemed that always the conversation would always lead back to Shania and Mutt and thier baby.
"So..what is your favorite Movie" asked Mark's Girlfriend.
Around the room the movie "Emortial Beloved" came up.
"But we havent been to the movies in a while have we?" Shania said looking at Mutt.
Mutt nodded.
"neither have we" said Carrie."What havent you guys gone?"
Shania thought for a minute.
"We havent really had time."said Mutt who has his arm around Shania.
Jeff gave a small chuckle and said
"Ha, Just wait till the baby comes!"
It was getting late and everyone was getting realy tired. Over the hours people had left so that it was now only Shania,Mutt,Carrie,and Jeff.
Shania gave a long yawn.
"You tired?"asked Jeff as he sipped his coffee.
"Yeah.I am getting a little tired" she said as she gave another long yawn.
carrie looked at the clock.
"10:45pm....you guys should go back to the hotel....Shania..you need all the rest you can get."
Mutt looked at shania and said "You ready to go babe?"
"Sure." said Shania as she got up and said her goodnights to Carrie and Jeff.
"Wanna go out to lunch tomorrow?"asked Shania.
"of course..we would love to." said Jeff as they walked Mutt and Shania to the door. Shania and Mutt walked out the door and got into the car.Carrie and Jeff waved and watched them go out of sight then went inside.
As Shania and Mutt was driving home Shania took mutts hand in hers and said........

"I'm glad we came here Love" Mutt said "Same here Woody, we just ned to go back to the hotel and rest." Mutt and Shania got back to the hotel. Mutt helped Shania up stairs. Shania and Mutt got ready for bed. Shania hoped into bed and waited for Mutt to hope in. Mutt then got in. Shania and Mutt finally went to sleep.....

Mutts eyes snapped open and he glanced at the clock. 12:45 AM.
"Damnit!" he muttered to himself and got out of bed slowly, Shania not even stirring. He went over to the french doors which opened to a small balcony overlooking a beatiful lake and opened them, stepping out to get some fresh air. He looked back inside at his beatiful wife sleeping. He thought she looked like an angel, her hair still slightly curly from the hot rollers that she used before she went to Carries, her breath fading in and out in perfect rythem, her eyes so delicately shut. Even in sleep, she looked happy and content. He couldn't believe his luck to have her, and he loved her more than words could express. He wondered sometimes what he had done to deserve her and even though he had never been sure of the idea of having a baby, suddenly it seemed so perfect, like this was the way life was supposed to be. Everything just seemed to fit into place. Before her, he couldn't imagine life in love again, with her he couldn't imagine life out of love. With another deep breath, he went back inside, carefully shutting the doors quietly behind him and slipped back into bed. Shania turned over her eyes still glazed over with sleep and slightly misty.
"Love, are you ok?" She asked, still not fully awake.
"Im fine woody, just go back to sleep" He put his arms around her and pulled her close to him.
"Ok," she said and smiled at him "im so tired," and with that she was back asleep in his arms. He smiled to himself and closed his eyes...

Shania awoke to the sound of birds singing happily outside the window. She smiled lazily and stretched her arms over her head. She had slept like a dream all through the night without waking. For a few moments she allowed herself the rare luxury of being still. She wanted to take everything in; the sound of the birds outside, the sunshine streaming through the balcony doors, even the odd snoring sighs that came from Mutt's side of the bed. Since she discovered that she was pregnant, everything in her life, even the little things, became precious. She lay the palms of her hands on her ever-growing stomach and smiled.
"Good morning little one," she whispered. Three months. Three more months and she would finally hold the baby in her arms. She had spent countless hours dreaming of what the baby would look like. Would he or she have a head of beautiful blond curls like Mutt? Perhaps it would have her eyes.
Mutt stirred beside her and she turned to look at him. His hair was in wild dissaray as he looked at her from the small, blue slits that were his eyes.
"Good morning," Shania giggled.
Mutt smirked at her, "It's alright Woody. You can laugh at the old man. I know I'm no Russell Crowe."
"Silly Love," Shania sighed as she laid her head on his chest. "I don't want any Russell Crowe. I want you."
He smiled with love and reached down to put his hand on her belly.
"Well, I might be getting on in years, but I will say this for myself. I can't see Russell Crowe pushing a stroller. So, I think that you lucked out"........

Shania looked up into Mutts big beautiful blue eyes.
"You have no idea how lucky I am." she said as she layed her head back down on his chest. Moved his hand through her hair and held her close.
"Yes I do babe." he whispered.
Shania wiggled around in his arms and layed there.
They just layed there for a hour. Not sleeping, not talking, jsut breathing eachother in. Taking in the scent that was so comforting, the scent they knew so well. Everything was peaceful. Shania started to daydream about what life was going to be like. She imagined her and Mutt sitting on their couch cuddling together as they hold their beautiful baby in their arms. Just thinking of this brought a huge smile to Shania's face. Shania felt the baby kick again. Everytime Shania's smile drew a little bigger and a little brighter....

"Shania I have someone I want you to meet." Amanda's eyes were shinning with excitement as she led her into the living room.
"Oh, a new boyfriend??" Shania asked in a teasing tone and a knowing smile spread slowly across her face. "Is he cute?"
"Aunt Eilleen!!!! I don't know" she exclaimed, a bright hue of red creeping into her face. "No more questions! just come!" She laughed and just then Jill came out and gave her sister an excited hug, whispering in her ear "Give your approval, Amanda's really excited about this one." before she pulled away. Shania smiled and promised she would and the went into the living room. Sitting on the couch was a young man, probably about 22, very cute with dark hair and light eyes. She could tell immediately that he had coached himself on what to say when he met her as he looked somewhat nervous when he stood up and held out his hand.
"Hi!" her voice sounded sweet and inviting as she shook his hand with a stunning smile. "It's nice to meet you, I'm Eilleen."
He was a little startstruck and that was only slightly noticible as he replied, "Brian. Its so cool to actually meet you, I'm a big fan of your music."
"Thanks Brian." He felt tingles run through his spine when she said his name. They all went and sat down to catch up on lost time...

The family were talking alot off things. The Carrie-Ann said "Shania you think we should go up to the grave yard this afternoon and visit our mum and dad's grave?" Shania said "Think it's a good idea?" Jill said "Well I don't see why not we haven't been up there for awhile since last november" Shania said "Okay I don't see why not too. Would be nice to let them know whats going on though they won't speak back." Jill said "I Know they won't. Anyway let's all go down there." The family all went down to visit their parents grave sites the youn ones stayed back with a friend of theirs. As they were to young to under stand. So finally They got to their parents site Jill satrted to speak first...

Hey y'all I won't be able to add to the story for a while probably because I am moving to South Carolina http://www.shaniaforums.com/frown.gif I'm REALLY nervous!! LOL! anyways...I won't be here for a while so my posts will be much less frequent. Shania said not a word but huddled closer to Mutt as she dropped a rose. Silently tears rolled down her cheeks, and Mutt tightened his grip around her burying his face in her hair.
"Come on lets go" Her voice was soft, her eyes sad, yet there was this undeniable beauty and strength about her as she started to leave. With only a quick glance back towards her parents grave, she walked away, pulled close to Mutt. Carrie and Jeff followd closely behind, conversing quietly. It seemed like an eternity before they reached the car, and walk was just as painful this time as it was every time, bringing back fresh memories and tears.

..Shania slowly got in the car in the passenger seat. Mutt helped her.
"Thank you love" she said wipeing a tear fomr her eye.
"no problem babe" said Mutt as he kissed her on the forehead and shut the door. he got in the car on the other side.
Soon the whole family were in their cars. The wives were laying thir heads on their loving husbands shoulder. Everyone drove home in silence. Mutt and Jeff knew their wives had hard lives..and they hated the fact that their wives were like that...but they were comforted to know that there was a lot of love in the house. Soon they were home....

Shania closed her eyes lightly and rested her head on Mutts comforting shoulder.
"I don't want to move" she said in a sleepy voice, snuggling closer to her husband.
"But you know you have too." He smiled down at her.
"But I know I have..." she trailed off with a yawn that melted into a slight smile that seemed to, although she was tired, light up her whole face.
"Y'all can stay with us tonight so you don't have to go back to the hotel." Carrie offered quickly with a bright smile.
"Thats probably a good idea." Mutt laughed when he looked down at his wife, all curled up, half asleep, in the crook of his arm. He gently shifted so that he was able to slide out of the car and lift her out with him. She barely even stirred, moving just enough to make it easier for him to carry her in.
"I can walk you know" her voice was so soft, it was almost a whisper and her eyes were a beatiful green under a haze as she opened them. He could tell she was not fully awake.
"No way, you're fine."
"But I'm too heavy for you" her protests were lost, for he was just as stubborn as she was, and she finally gave in with a sigh. Carrie and Jeff looked over and shared a small smile with Mutt as he moved her to his other arm, using one to brush away her hair from her face.
"You'll never be too heavy, Woody" he said quietly but she had fallen back asleep in his arms. Carrie smiled, again looking at them, knowing that he made Shania so happy and safe. Mutt had his attention focused on Shania as he turned to accomodate the walkway in which they went up to the front door.

The next morning.

Mutt rolled over in bed and reached out for Shania. To his surprise she wasn't there. he sat up and looked around the room. As ran his fingers through his hair, he paused to scratch his neck. "where the hell are you woody?" he asked in a low whisper. He was still dazed from his heavy sleep as he stumbled out of bed.

He opened the bedroom door and heard some noises coming from downstairs. As he walked through the halls he heard the sound of the t.v. "I taw I saw a putty tat. I did, I did!" Followed by a small chorus of laughter. He made his way into the tv room and saw Shania cuddled up with her nephew on the couch. They were both wrapped up in a blanket watching saturday morning cartoons.

"What are you guys doing?" Mutt asked with a small chuckle

"Shh..don't wake the others love" replied Shania. "Why don't you sit with us?"

"Yeah!" jumped in her nephew "join us uncle Mutt!"

Mutt sat down on the couch and cuddled up with his nephew and Shania as they watched sylvester chase tweety around the house only to get hit in the head by the little old ladies broom...

While Mutt, Shania and their nephew were watching TV all the others came down stairs. By that time it was breakfast. Shania and Mutt went for a drive. Shania was thinking suddenly she had tears in her eyes. Mutt said "Woody whats wrong?" Shania sniff and said "Love I had a dream last night, I dreamt that I saw my parents again." Mutt put his hand on Shania's hand and said "Woody, I know how much you and your sisters miss your parents. Tell you want we'll go back to the grave and you can talk to your parents?" Shania said "I can't. It's to painful Love." Shania thenstarted crying. Mutt stopped the car. He got out of the car, he went to shania's side and got her out. They went for a little walk arm in arm....

they walked through the woods on a small narrow path that was barley lit by the thin rays that fell apon the ground which barley penitrated the thick leaves of the canope. Shania was still crying. Mutt heled her close and kissed her head.
he found a bench that over looked a small lake. He guided Shania to the bench. he sat down first.

"Whats wrong????" said Mutt with a worried look on his face. Soon he knew what it was..the baby kicked again. when he looked up he saw a smile come across Shania's face. He wiped a tear from her cheek and kissed her while still holding his hand on her stomach. He bent down and kissed her belly. This brought another tear to Shanias eye..though not one of pain...but one of happiness.
"We have a little one to think about now" he said. Shania was speechless as she smiled

"I am so in love with you." Shania winced as the baby kicked again but this time she managed to put Mutts hand on her stomach so he could feel. "Feel that?" He smiled and he was overcome with joy for the little one that she carried.
"Yes" he said softly, looking deep into her hazel eyes, trying to read them, which brought a beautiful smile to her face as she leaned over and kissed him. She pulled him up from the bench with her and they began to walk back to the house, her hand placed lightly on her stomach.

As soon as they arrived at Carries, the door flew open and her nephew came bounding towards her, on his heels a barking dog. Shania knelt down and drew him into her arms for a hug.
"Aunt Eilleen!!! Guess what I did today!!!"
"What did you do today" She laughed as she spoke to the little boy, settling him comfortably on her hip.
"we went swimming!" he said matter of factly his cute face grinning.
"Oh you did?? Did you have fun?" she asked with a warm smile.
"Yup!" suddenly the baby kicked and he put his hand on her stomach in facination. His eyes grew wide, full of amazement when it kicked again. Carrie laughed, watching them through the screen door.
"Thats your cousin" Shania tilted her face towards him in anticipation of his reaction.
"WOW!! Was I like that once???" He asked, still staring at her belly in suprise.
"Of course you were!" She laughed and began tickling him mercilessly as she put him down. In a fit of giggles, he tried to run away but she caught him and they both ended up on the ground laughing. Carrie decided that was a good time to come out and went over to them still laughing hysterically on the ground.
"Inside now!" she said with a pretend look of annoyance. He scurried inside with one last glace towards his aunt, who winked at him.
"I'm so sorry" carrie looked at her, eyes full of apologies.
"Why are you sorry?" shania stood up and brushed herself off with a confused look. "He's just a kid, besides I started it." Carrie just shook her head and started inside.
"Here woody you have grass in your hair." Mutt laughed as he pulled it out of the ponytail and she nudged him away to run her fingers through it.
"I think we should go inside now" She grinned and they started inside.

then she wrinkled her nose.
"Mutt, I don't feel so great." She leaned her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes her forehead creasing as she waited for the nausea to pass. He squeezed her shoulder reassuringly and she opened her eyes to look at him. Suddenly her stomach lurched and drew her knees as close to her chest as she could. Mutt told her nephew to go tell Carrie he was taking her upstairs and he hopped off, asking if she would be ok. Mutt assured him she would and then he proceeded to gently lift her off the couch and into his arms. She bit her lip and closed her eyes tight, praying the nausea would go away. She buried her head deep into his shoulder and took a deep breath as he laid her on the guest bed. She curled up immediately as the pain slowly faded away. She uncurled and pulled herself to a sitting position with her head in her hands.
"Woody, are you ok???" his voice and eyes were filled with worry as she lifted her head to look at him.
"I'm fine. I just got a little nauseous. It happens a lot, you know that." her own voice shook and she could see her hands doing the same.
"A little, Eilleen, you scared the hell outta me." he spoke honestly and the worry turned quickly into relieved laughter.
"I think I just need to lie down for a while." Shania felt awful for ruining their night and didn't want to make anyone worry further. "I'll be down in a bit."
"Well if you're sure..." he hesitated, wondering if that was really what Shania wanted.
"Love, I'm sure! Now go have fun, I promise I will come down." she kissed him firmly on the lips and then pulled away to rest her head on the pillow.
"Ok, I'll see you in a bit." He walked out the door, turning back only slightly to see her eyes closed, her face somewhat pale. He pushed the worry out of his mind and decisively shut the door behind him.

Mutt walked doen the stairs quietly...every few steps looking back as if to hope to see shania thereand she would leap to his arms and smile and kiss him and tell thim it was alright and that she felt better...but she did not, the door that kept his love in never did open, not even a sound came from behind it. He turned down the stairs reluctantly and met up with Dylan his cute nephew.
"Will she be ok?" he asked with a sad look on his face. Mutt smiled down at him...bent down and picked him up.
"yeah" said Mutt "She will be just fine." His own words seemed to comfort him enough so he let himself move away. He went into the living room where Carrie and Jeff sat waiting.
"Is she ok?" they asked in unison.
"She will be fine.......I hope."said Mutt.
Carrie got up and put and reasureing hand on Mutts shoulder. "I went through the same thing with Dylan....she will be fine."
Mutt tried to smile..and he waited for three hours for Shania to come down. Finaly he walked up and opened her door........

he found Shania awake sitting in a small rocking chair. She did not notice Mutt. She sat there talking to the life which was growing inside her. Mutt could not hear what she was saying, and he decided to just watch her in her beauty as she talked sweet as honey to their child which was yet to be born. Then Shania started to sing a soft lulliby sa she looked down and rubbed her belly as she sang. Her voice soft and sweet as she rocked back and forth. Seeing this brought a smile to his face...he just wanted to go up and envelope her in his loveing arms and kiss her and never let go...buthe decided to watch a little more...

Finally he couldn't stand it anymore.
"Woody." with that one word her eyes lifted to his, her pure, innocent beauty shocking him. Her radiance was such a sharp contrast to the way she looked when he left, pale and scared. Now her skin shone a perfect tone, her cheeks rosy and she had a smile on her lips. She motioned for him to come over, her eyes shinning, drawing out her articulate eyebrows and he just stared for a moment, then moved over to where she sat, slowly rocking back and forth, her fingers floating softly over her belly. He knelt down beside her and ran his hand with hers, until he clasped it with delicate love. She softly sang a beautiful lullaby that brought tears to his eyes.
"Woody, thats beatiful, God, I love you." He ran his forefinger from the tip of her lips down to her stomach again. "Come back downstairs with me and sing for everyone. They will love it just as much as I do."
"Not yet love, I'm not finished." She smiled at him and he again, couldn't believe how lucky he was. "I love you." her voice barely above a whisper, yet silky and perfect. He toyed with a strand of her auburn hair, running it back and forth between his fingers, and he noticed how her ring caught the light and complimented her slim hand pefectly. She stood up slowly, each movement caught in time and he lifted his arms to put them around her from behind. She turned so she was facing him and he put a hand softly under her chin. "You are so perfect" he began to guide her to the bed and they lay down together, falling asleep, breathing in perfect harmony.

as they were sleeping Dylan came up and opened the door..full of curiosity and wonder. He saw them lying down, and he knew everything was all right..not just alright..but perfect too.
He shut teh door and walked away. As Dylan shut the door Mutt awoke and looked at Shania, hopeing she was not woken. She smiled to see that she was still asleep. He kissed her on the forehead..then went to sleep. For three hours they slept in teh silence..but mutt was woke up by the sound of Shania stiring in his arms. She was looking up at him as he opened his eyes.
"How long have you been awake?" asked Mutt.
"Only a hour or so." she responded.
"Why didnt you wake me up?" he asked with a smile on his face.
"Because you are so cute when you sleep" she said with a small giggle. Mutt smiled...

Mutt smiled and gave Shania a big hug,Shania was loving it.Being in her husbands arm made her feel so safe,and loved.
"Honey I love you,so much,I can't wait for the baby to be born.." Mutt whispered to her

It brought a bit a tear to Shania's eye,hearing that.
"baby I love you too,I can't wait for the baby either" Shania whispered back.

Then there was a knock at the door.
"Come in" Shania called.

The door opened slowly,and then they seen Dylan peering his head in...

Shania and Mutt both started laughing.
"Dylan,you can come in all the way you know.."Mutt told him.

Dylan jumps in the room "I know uncle Mutt..'he said shyly.

He crawled up on Mutt's lap,and sat there staring at Shania's big tummy.
"Can I touch it again,Leenie..?"

"Of course you can honey.."Shania answered back.

Mutt and Shania were both smiling,they loved the idea that Dylan was being so gentle,and understanding that Uncle Mutt and Aunt Shania are going to have a baby of their own soon.

"Do you think it will be a boy or a girl Dylan..?"Mutt asked

"hmmm.....can it be both..?" Asked Dylan

Shania and Mutt both started laughing
"Well it's possible..."Shania said with a laugh as she took Mutt's hand and placed it on her stomach to feel the baby kick...again.

Downstairs....
"Well it's about time ya'll came down" Carrie said.

"We feel asleep,after Mutt came up to check on me,I went to lay down again,and he laid down with me,and we both dozed off." Shania said..with a bit of a blush going.

Mutt went and sat on the floor with Dylan,
they were playing with Dylan's toys..aawwweee..

"Aaawwee..look at that he's so sweet,he's going to make a good father.."Carrie said to Shania

"I know he is...*Shania gets a big smile on her face*...oh,Carrie I love him so much.." Shania said rubbing her growing belly.

Mutt looked over at Shania and seeing her smile,made him smile http://www.shaniaforums.com/smile.gif

"I know you do Leenie,whenever you two are together your inseperable,and both of you are always smiling,and happy,your so perfect for each other.." Carrie told her

Jeff was just laughing at them,and told Shania
"By the way he talks,he loves you more then anything else...blah blah blah.."
They all started laughing..

Shania got up and made her way over to Mutt,and sat on the couch behind him.......

Shania placed her arms around his neck and brushed her lips to his temple, laying her head soflty on his shoulder.
"Hey Love." her voice was a whisper and very sultry and seductive. "Are you having fun?"
"More than you can even imagine." He lifted his head and turned it towards hers to oblige her with a quick kiss on the lips. She pulled away and leaned back on the couch contentedly with a smile. She let her mind wander and pressed her hand to her stomach, imaging what life will be like once the baby is born. She was so lost in thought that she didn't even notice Jeff come and sit beside her on the couch until she heard his voice.
"Hey Eilleen, Carrie wants to talk to you in the kitchen if you're not busy." Shania turned to him, startled, and smiled.
"Sure. I'm on my way." She started to get up but Jeff clasped her hand pulling her back down.
"Leeny, look at me." She looked at him with questioning eyes. "I want you to tell me that you're ok, because you got very sick earlier." Jeff was only slightly relieved when she laughed off his worry.
"Don't worry Jeff!! I am totally fine! I just had a spell." Jeff watched her get up giving him a quick hug and start for the kitchen. He knew that she wouldn't have told him even if she was sick and that worried him. Pushing those thoughts from his mind, he glanced at the clock and was suprised when it said 8:30 PM. He stood up from the couch quickly and went over behind his son with a smile.
"Time for bed Dylan." He lifted him up swirling him, disolving him into a fit of giggles. "Lets go." He was prepared for the cries.
"Noooo!!! daddy!! I want to stay and play with Uncle Mutt and Aunt Eilleen." His cries turned to wimpers and then to a pout as he buried his head in Jeff's shoulder.
"They'll be here in the morning Dylan. Lets give them a break, they've played with you all day." Mutt smiled and winked at Dylan, lighting up the little boys face. Jeff turned and gave him a look that said. "Just wait, your turn will be here soon enough." Mutt laughed and watched him take his son to bed. Finding that there was really nothing else to do, he wandered over to the kitchen where Shania and Carrie were in the middle of a heated discussion. Not wanting to eavesdrop, he went into the living room again and turned the TV on to drown out their voices.

Carrie said "Shania are you sure you aren't sick now?" Shania said "I'm fine Carrie,really, it's okay." Carrie said "You weren't before?" Shania said"Okay It's just the pregnancy thing when you aren't well" Carrie said "I see. let's just drop the subject." Shania went to find Mutt watching TV. Shania smiled at him. Mutt looked up and saw her smiling at him. Shania went to sit next to him. Mutt said "Is everything okay out there?" Shania said "Yep things are okay out there." Soon Everyone all went to bed.

The next day Shania got up and gotdressed. She put her coat on and then went for a nice walk. She stopped at the Grave yard. She picked a rose of a bush and went to her parents grave. Shania took a deep breath and thought I have to say something to them. So Shania said "Hi mum and Dad, we all miss you 2 so much. Things are fine here but it's not the same and never will be the same without you 2. I'm here to say that I'm 5 1/2 months pregnt. I wish you 2 were here to give me a hug." Shania couldn't say anymore she dropped the flower on the grave. She stood there for about an hour with tears coming down her cheeks. She decied to go back to Carrie's house. Mutt was outside waiting for Shania. He saw her coming. He went up to her and said "Are you okay?" Soon as he said that he saw tears in Shania's eyes. Shania and Mutt hugged....

Shania couldn't speak...she knew if she opened her mouth she would start sobbing...and that was the last thing she wanted to do. Instead she just knoded(sp?) her head as in saying yes. Mutt could see that she really wasn't, so he guided her towards the big maple tree in the front yard. there they sat for a while, Shania wrapped in Mutts arms.

After a few moments Shania broke the silence.
"I don't know why....but lately I miss them more than ever." She sat there playing with a leaf that had fallen from the tree. "I guess it's because I know they won't ever be able to meet our baby. My parents did so much for me, and they never got to see me succeed. They weren't there when I received my first award...or when I married you...and now...now they won't be able to meet our baby. I know they are watching...but Sometimes I just feel an empty gap...ya know?"

"That's only natural Woody. You are emotional because of the pregnancy also...you know the doctor told you it could happen, Now lets go in and enjoy the time we have with your family...after all you still have them..." saying that Mutt stood up, he helped Shania to her feet and they walked inside...side by side.

The next morning :

Shania brushed stray auburn hair off her face and sat back on her heels with a sigh. She couldn't believe how excited she was. Never in a million years did she expect to be this excited about her new baby. Carrie watched her from the doorway, her happiness evident and extremely contagious. She felt a smile tug at the corners of her mouth as she went over to her sister, who had gone back to writing furiously in her little notepad, every few lines tucking her shoulder length hair behind her ear. Upon reaching her sister, instead of suprising her like she had planned she stopped short in her tracks when she heard Shania singing something softly. Thinking it may be new material she leaned closer and heard an unfamiliar tune.
"New stuff??" Shania jumped a foot, thoroughly startled, and whirled to see her sister with a sheepish smile on her face. "Sorry leeny I didn't mean to scare you, really." Shania rolled her eyes, shutting her notepad then smiled.
"Whatever, I'm sure!" Carrie could hear the teasing tone her voice had taken and laughed.
"Ok, ok you're right! I meant to do it!! I'm sorry!!!" Shania laughed and began softly singing the same tune as before. "So I repeat, new stuff??" Carrie asked her again with a smile.
"No actually, new stuff but not from me. It's Faith Hill's new song. There you'll be. Have you heard it?? I love it." Shania sang a few bars a little louder than before and this time Carrie recognized it.
"Yeah actually I have. You're right, it is good. I'll let you get back to writing your songs now Leeny. I'll be inside if you need me." Carrie went inside laughing to herself.

He leaned over to brush the stray hair away from her face.

"You are so beatiful Woody," he whispered leaning even closer to allow his lips to brush hers.

"Really? you think so?" She pulled away with a teasing smile.

"No, I'm lying." he laughed at her sofly and pulled her back with him. "of course you're beautiful. I love you so much." He could smell her silky auburn hair and it smelt like coconuts. He smiled to himself and wished this would last forever. Her head still buried in his chest she laughed, "I dont look so beautiful right now, thats for sure. I don't even have on any makeup."

"Woody you don't need makeup. You are just naturally gorgeous." He spoke from his heart and shania felt tears fill her almond shaped hazel eyes, and despite her best efforts, threaten to spill over. He pulled back to look at her and saw her tears. "Why are you crying???" He looked at her, eyes questioning.

"Love, I'm not crying because I am sad. That was just so sweet. Besides, its just hormones." She laughed and he smiled at her.

"Ok if you're sure."

"I'm sure, you worry too much. You think I am so fragile just because I am pregnant, I promise you im not fragile. I'm strong." She waved her hand to accetuate her words, wrinkling her nose cutely and Mutt smiled at her.

"You are so cute! I can't wait to be a father." she felt tears fill her eyes again and laughed. "Oh no, here we go again." She stuck her tongue out at him.

Mutt smiled at her cuteness and grabed her closer to him. He could still see a tear that had rested on her soft cheek. He put up a loving hand and whiped it away. She turned around in his arms and looked up at him. They just looked at each other lovingly for a few minutes...never looking away. Then they moved in closer untill their lips met and they shared a soft kiss. They pulled back after a minute and looked at each other again...they smiled...and moved in again....

The kiss left Shania breathless and flushed.

"We have a flight to catch." She whispered sofly in Mutt's ear.

"I had completely forgotten. We should probably go." Neither one of them moved.

"Yeah, we should, huh?" Her eyes danced as she looked at him.

"Come on Mrs. Lange." He smiled and pulled away to get their bags.

"I can carry some of those." She smiled at him and moved to get a bag.

"I don't think so!" he responded quickly, moving it out of her reach. He laughed at the frustrated look on her face. "You don't need to. I have them." She laughed and tossed her hair over her shoulder.

"Fine, then I'll wait in the car." She turned with a flourish and started for their car. He laughed and shook his head, following her outside to the car, easily beating her to the door, holding it open for her with a smile. She just laughed and went to sit in the car, tuning the radio to her liking.

"Oh! I love this song." She turned it up with a laugh and sang along to Faith Hill.

"Ooh I love the way you, love the way you love me..." Dissolving into laughs, she scooted closer to Mutt in the cab of their rented truck. He slipped one arm around her and she stayed that way until they reached the airport.

When the song was over Shania was startled at what the DJ said.
"Wow..and great news for all you faith fans out there...word was just released that Faith and Tim are expecting their third child this January. Now we have to country mamas expecting..Shania and Faith...wow...well congrats to the mommy and mommy to be." With this Shania raced through her bag to find her cell phone. She dialed Faith up excitedly, while mutt watched with a smile.
Soon Faith picked up....
"Why didnt u tell me girl??" said shania.
Faith let out a small laugh...
"I wanted to see how long it would take u to find out" she said with a small chuckle. "well....only 10 hours...lol..and u didnt tell me u were pregnant until u were 3 months..and this is your first!"
Shania and Faith laughed.
"Well congrats hon" said Shania as she saw mutt gesture to Shania that he wanted to talk to Faith. Shania handed him the phone.
"Congradulation Faith"
"Thanks" said Faith.
"Well all have to get together sometime!" said mutt. "The pregnant ladies and their wonderful careing*mutt chuckeled* husbands!"
"Of course" said Faith.
Mutt heard someone crying in the background.
"Sorry..i have to go....call me later and we can talk some more..magie is crying..she fell..tell Shania I said goodbye and thanks"
"ok.bye" said Mutt as he hung up the phone and handed it to Shania.
"Maggie hurt herself and faith had to leave...She said thanks and to call her tomorrow to talk."
"Thanks love" said Shania as she cuddled up close to him and leaned her head on his shoulder and gave a small sigh and shut her eyes.
"No problem" said Mutt as he kissed her head and smiled as they pulled into the car rental place where they had picked up the car and walked to the plane.....

Big raindrops splashed all around them, quickly soaking both Shania and Mutt.

"Now it rains!!!! AAAHHH HURRY UP!!!" Shania laughed as they rushed into the airport, completely wet, unintenionally drawing quite a bit of attention to themselves. They went to check their bags laughing and the lady behind the front desk stared at the couple that had just came bursting in, her mind wandering as she wondered who they were.

"Hi. I'm sorry we are getting water everywhere." Shania's distinctive voice made her stare even harder. 'Where had she seen them before? That woman looks so familiar' She thought to herself as she got everything ready, a quick glance at their tickets answered her question. 'Oh man, I should have known, thats Shania Twain, I had completely forgotten she's about six or seven months pregnant.' her eyes widened as a million thoughts raced through her head.

"No problem, I understand." She smiled sweetly at Shania and looked to Mutt. "When are you due?" Her eyes sparkled, but clouded when Shania looked to Mutt before replying...

"I am due in August" said Shania sweetly with her beautiful smile glowing.

"Oh around your birthday" said the lady then looking like she regreted what she had said. Shania was very marvled at how the lady who hardly could tell who she was ,new her birthday. Shania looked at the lady with a
smile."yeah...right around there" she said.

"Sorry" said the lady "I am a Behind the Music junkie" said the lady.

"Its ok" said Shania as she touched the ladys arm like she does. The lady was all done with her work and handed the pasport to Shania along with her ticket.

"Thank you Mr and Mrs Lange" she said tying to help Shania not get too noticed.

"Thank you" said shania and Mutt as they walked of together.
They walked to the plane and sat down in their seats and smiled at one another...

"Well that went suprisingly well." Mutt looked over at his wife, suprised that more people hadn't recognized her. Her hair was down and flowing, nearly dry now. She wore little makeup, but the pale blue eye shadow brought out the green in her eyes and gave a striking effect. Her lips were rosy from the damp air and her lips glossed over perfectly. He leaned over and quickly kissed her.

"Yeah, it really did, but it looks as though we spoke too soon." As the words left her lips, Mutt noticed the stares and whispers in her direction.

"Uhoh, looks like someone just got noticed. How could they not notice you, you're beautiful." His voice was teasing but his eyes were serious.

"Damn! Now what do I do??" She scanned the plane, realizing how quickly word had traveled when she heard a whisper behind her.

"Hey isn't that Shania Twain?" The lady behind her was shocked as she whisperd to a complete stranger beside her. "Yeah, that sure does look like her. Is Shania Twain pregnant though?" the reply was questioning and Shania fought the urge to whirl around and say who she was. Instead she patiently sat in her seat waiting for the inevitable tap on the shoulder and question, "Are you Shania Twain?" And of course when it came she was, as always, unprepared for it.

"ummm...yes that would be me" she said with a smile, being polite.

The lady had a smile spread across her face as she sat back down. The ladys mind had a thousand thoughts running through it. 'Should I tell everyone who she is, or say its not her to keep her privacy' the lady decided to keep her little secret and not tell anyone.
"Umm..Mrs. Lange" said the woman politely and she spoke between the seats.
"Yes?" said Shania.

"I will not tell, since I know you would like your privacy with your husband during this time" the woman smiled.
"Thank you very much" said shania as she was grateful. She heard the lady turn around to her neighbore and whisper "Nope..dang and I was excited too" the news soon spread like wildfire though the plane. Shania cuddled up to mutt and shut her eyes..it was going to be a long flight home....

Shania snapped her eyes open with a jolt and looked around. The plane was dark, and most everyone was sleeping. She glanced at Mutts digital watch and 10:34 PM blinked back at her. 'Maybe we shouldn't have taken a night flight.' She thought to herself as she yawned and closed her eyes, resting back against Mutt. She fell asleep with those thoughts in her mind.

When she woke again, it was because Mutt was slightly shaking her, letting her know the plane was getting ready to land. She opened her eyes, at first unaware of her surroundings. She sat up in her seat and looked around inconspicuously. She saw only about half of the people on the plane were actually still sleeping, some of the ones who had woken were looking at her, still wondernig whether she was Shania Twain or not. Because she was such a dead ringer.
It seemed like hours until the plane landed, instead of minutes. Her worry about being recognized had exhausted her and all she wanted to do was go home and sleep. She sighed with relief as the plane landed and she could get off. The flight attendant had recognized her right away, but didn't want to say anything quite yet. "This was going to be my last flight....Its not quite dangerous yet..but better safe than sorry"

"ok" said the flight attendant as Shania left.

Shania and Mutt headed out of the plane and went to pick up the bags, which Mutt carried all and would not allow Shania to carry any. They walked to their car which they boraded there at the airport. Mutt put the bags in the back as Shania hopped in the passenger seat. Mutt shut the back door and walked to the drivers seat and sat down. After he shut the door Shania leaned on his shoulder and began to sleep again.
"We will be home soon" whispered Mutt.
They drove home and soon they were home..But Shania was sound asleep,and Mutt didnt have the heart to wake her again....

He laughed at the sense of dejavu he got as he slipped his hands under her small frame and lifted her easily, leaving the bags for after he brought her in. She felt amazingly light in his arms, which seemed strange considering she was over six months pregnant. Shania was wide awake and she sat up drinking some hot cholocate that she whiped up while he was gone. She had made him some too. He smiled and sat down next to her as she handed him his warm drink. He sipped slightly.

"Did I wake you up beautiful?" he asked.
Shania scooted closer to him so that she was practicly sitting on his lap as she leaned against his shoulder and he put his free arm around her.

"No love...its ok." she said as she gave him a kiss. She was aming for his cheek but he turned his head just in time to catch her by the lips and gave her a sweet kiss...

After the kiss ended Mutt said jokingly "How come every time I kiss you I feel so amazing afterwords..? "

Shania just laughed. She didn't know what to say..finally she said "..ummm.. well I don't know,you tell me.."

"Cuz your so amazingly beautiful,and I love you more then anything..."Mutt told her which made Shania smile,a perfect smile, showing her big beautiful pearly whites..in return made Mutt give one of his sexy grins...They met half ways for another kiss..

This is was long and passionaite kiss,as they were kissing Mutt reasted his hand on Shania's belly,and felt the baby kick. That broke the kiss

Shania rested her head on Mutts chest exhausted, and they both allowed sleep to overtake them, finally home in their own bed.

The Next Morning:

Mutt woke before Shania and decided to go downstairs to make coffee, when the phone rang. He glanced at the clock to see it was nearly noon and went to pick it up. The voice on the other end was vaugely familiar, but recognized Mutt quickly.

"Mutt!! How are you?? And how is Shania?? I haven't talked to yall in like forever!!" He saw his wife coming down the stairs and motioned to her to pick up the other line.

"Hello?" Her voice sounded still slightly sleepy and the person on the other line laughed and spoke excited to Shania.

"GIRL!!!!! It's been forever!!! Why didn't you tell me??? I have been trying to get a hold of you for FOREVER but you haven't been home!!! OH NO!! You sound tired!! Did I wake you??? I feel so bad!" Shania recognized the voice immediately and laughed at the 18 (guess?) year old girl on the other line.

"Its ok! I was already awake don't worry about it! How is the song doing? I'm really sorry we never got to meet."

"I am too!! I wanted to meet you soo bad!" Mutt finally realized who the person on the other end was, Britney Spears.

hehehe I heard they were friends on the radio today so I was like what the heck. hahahaha

Shania put on her little matrnity top that nutt had bought for her when she first found out she was pregnant. Her mind trailed off to that day...
She was sittin in the doctors offica waiting for him to come and tell her what all his test revealed. As the doctor walked in with a smile, she know he had some great news.
The words "Shania you are pregnant" came out and her mind was flooded with a thousand thoughts at once.
"How should she tell mutt?"
"when was the baby due?"
"was it a boy or a girl"
"I am so happy"
"I love Mutt"

and a thousand more of joy and life. After chating with the doctor for a while she left in her car to tell mutt who was at home looking over one of the songs they had written the privious day.
Shania pulled into the drive way and anxiously to the studio and saw mutt looking cloesly at the thin piece of paper which now, to her, meant so little at this time. Mutt looked up at her a little startled.
"How did it go at the doctors, woody?" he said as she walked to him. he sat apon his lap nd swung her arms around his neck and gave him a kiss.
"Great" she said with a smile.
"Oh..and what did we find out" he said moving so he looked at her straight on, and her smile only widened.
I know that look he thought to himself. She smiled and took his hand and kissed it softly.Neither of them said a word. She then took his hand and placed it on her flat stomach and he knew right away. He could not find the words to express feelings of love and happiness. He pulled her in and gave her the sweetest and loving hug that this world has ever known. and he whispered in her ear.."I love you"
he had a tear in her eye as she whispered back....."I love you too". And they sat there for at least a hour. The next day Mutt had awoken before Shania and ran down to the baby store and picked out a girls baby clothing and boys and a maternity top for Shania. He came back with them before she woke up and placed them next to her. As she opened her eyes that was the first thing she saw..then she looked he other way and saw her loving husband there stareing at her......

Back to reality. Shania had a smile across her face as she watched Mutt put on his shirt and walk out to where shania was sitting...

Mutt came up behind her and rubbed her shoulders. She lifted her hand to his and closed her eyes lightly letting her neck go to one side gently.

"That feels so good," she opened her eyes and smiled. "I am so sore."

"Awww, I'm sorry sweetie. Come here." He pulled her into him and conintued to massage her shoulders.

the next morning the phone rang. It was Britney calling to say that she and Justin were on their way to Shania's house but they had gotten lost! Shania told Britney the directions and an hour later was at Shania's. When they rang the doorbell Mutt answered it and led Britney and Justin into the livingroom where Shania was lying on the couch. When Britney saw Shania she was very excited and speechless. After a few minutes she sat down and the four of them talked for a couple hours till it was time for Britney and Justin to go home. As they were walking out the door Shania haned Britney and Justin an autographed picture. But it was a picture that they had never seen before. And Shania was pregnant in it. This settled the rumors! Shania had gone to a photo shoot for new publicity photos and pictures for the new albulm! The next day.....

When Mutt woke the next morning he found Shania gone. He cautiously looked around their house until he found her, in the nursery, writing furiously in her notbook. She looked like quite a sight, still in her pjs, auburn hair tousled and carelessly tumbling in waves around her shoulders, sitting in the middle of the messy room. The box for the crib, not yet assembled, was beside her, with toys and various wall hangings around it and strewn about the room.

"Hey hun, you're up early." She looked up, startled, and her dreamy smile widened. She quickly shut her notebook and placed it on the crib box.

"You know what we should do today? We should just spend the whole day in here putting things together and getting everything perfect, like we have been wanting to do but haven't had the time." She tilted her head up at him and gave him a slanted glance, she looked so pretty and sweet that he couldn't turn her down. She saw the change in his eyes and stood up slowly, placing a discreet hand on her stomach and the other on her lower back, rubbing it ever so slightly. "Do you want to?"

"Well..." he moved over to her and put his arms around her shoulders from behind, "if thats what you want to do Woody, then I say we do it." She pulled herself from his hold and turned to face him, twisting her hair back from her face and using the hair tie around her wrist.

"Come on then! Don't stand there all day!!" She smiled at him and grabbed her notebook off the box. "oh by the way, I had some new ideas for the album..."

Mutt looked at her.
"And what did you have in mind?" he asked with a smile across his face, awaiting the ideas that came from her beautiful, intellegent head.
"Well.." she started as she opened up the notebook " I think It would be great if we could send...I dunno..like...a messege..to our fans..showing them that we really appreciate all thir support for us and our baby..and wadeing through this break." she paused and waited "What do you think love?" she said giving him a slight puppy dog look as she grabbed his hand slowly and placed it on her belly.
She knew that he could not resist that.
"Of course....you are so smart..that is a wonderful idea woody." he said placing a finger under her chin and bending down to give her a soft kiss. After their kiss Mutt pulled back...
"Now lets get this room together a little." he said. "but we cant really decorate it yet..because we dont know which..blue..or pink."
"We can do all that later" shania said "Now...lets just assemble..ok?"
"Ok" he said."But not you...there is too much heavy lifting involved..I dont want to risk anything..ok."
Shania knew he was probably right.
"Ok" she said a little dissapointed "But can I have some job..please..I want to help you with something" she walked to him.
"ummm" he searched his mind for some idea of what she could do to help..and he got a idea. he pulled her in close to him and she put her arms around him.
"Hey my sweet...How 'bout you go fix us some of your famous lemonaide and bring me a glass...that would help a lot..then come in here and sit down and take a load of..just seeing you helps me."
Shania blushed a little. Even after all these years.. Mutt coumd still flatter her with his sweet words.
"How about this....you will be my inspiration..whenever I get something assemebled..my reward is a big kiss from you..how is that?"
Shania smiled...
"perfect"she said and she went down stairs with a smile.....

When Shania came back into the baby room she saw Mutt starring at the instructions for the crib. The puzzled look on his face made her chuckle a little.

"What's wrong Love? Don't understand the instructions?" She asked teasingly.

"These are not instructions! They are destructions!" He laughed as he tossed the paper aside. "this shouldn't be that hard to figure out..."

Shania just sat there smiling to herself as she watched Mutt going through the parts and studying them. She let her mind wonder off until Mutt broke the silence, "I just don't know why they have to give you so many different kinds of screws!" He looked over at Shania and noticed she had been wondering off. "where were you woody, you looked a million miles away?"

"I was just thinking about stuff." she turned to him with a smile, noticing that he was still having trouble with the crib. "Let me do that." Mutt started to protest but she had made her way over and was sitting in the middle of the mess he had made, reading the instructions before he knew it.

"This goes here...that goes there..." She spoke softly to herself as she slowly pieced everything together. Mutt watched her, figuring she would never get it. After a while, she stood up and smiled. "Done!!" Mutt realized he had been drifting off while she worked and he looked up to realize she had completed the whole crib and it was together. He stared at her in amazement.

"How on earth did you do that??" She grinned at his shocked look.

"Talent!" He went over to the crib as she spoke.

"Talent huh?" He began tugging everything to make sure it was completely secure, and finding everything perfect, let out a sigh. "Fine, you did it." She laughed and suddenly her eyes widened.

"Be right back." She dashed out of the room leaving Mutt there with a confused look on his face. About five minutes past and he wondered where she went, then ten, then fifteen. Becoming worried about her he decided to look for her. Before he could leave, she came back, a smile on her face.

"Love, I know exactly what I want to put in that crib." She pulled her hand out from behind her back and in it was an old worn teddy bear. He saw the tears on her face and knew exactly what that was, even though he had never seen it before. "I kept it throughout the years, as the one thing I have to remember my parents by, I have had it since I was a baby." Her voice was tearful and he came over to her.

"And now you can pass it on to your, our baby." He spoke softly in her ear, trying to coax the tears away. "But we'll need to fix it up a little first." She turned to him and laughed, the tears drying quickly.

"Its a little worn huh?" He grinned at her and pulled her back into him.

"A little???" he spoke, pretending to be shocked.

"Ok maybe a lot." She conceded and pulled back out of his arms and placed the teddy bear in the crib. "It looks lonely." She placed a hand on her stomach and smiled.

"Not for long." Mutt covered her hand with his own and she felt her smile widen.

"No, not for long." She went up on her tiptoes and kissed him quickly. Then moved back to start putting toys away and deciding where to put what wall hangings. Mutt followed her, and hung things up when she needed his height. They worked all day...

Then finally they finsihed,and stood there just looking at the now finsihed baby room.

"Oh,my Mutt,it looks so beautiful..I love it..and I love you.." Shania said making her way over to him

"Honey,I love you too...and yes the room looks wonderful,now there's only on more thing that will finish it off .."Mutt replied,with a smile coming across his face

Shania got to Mutt and put her arm around his waist,and with the other hand she rubbed her belly.

A little bit after they went downstairs,and Mutt cooked supper for both of them.
As Mutt was cooking Shania sat in on the couch and watched a little TV.
