As early as 1971 or as late as 1974 - not sure of the exact year. In 1974 he produced a country rock album for South African artist Brian Finch called "Bringing Back the Good Times". This album was just on e-bay (item #1496237769) - I was outbid by eilleen(1) hm.....

Some South African vinyl records are being reissued on cd - I'm checking on the availability of this lp plus a demo single produced by Mutt for another S.A. artist - Richie Morris. I'll let you know if I find anything!
