Today on VH1 they showed the 100 most shocking moments in Rock & Roll. The whole countdown took 4 hours, so I missed the last 30-40.
Have any of you seen this?
I learned so much about rock & roll history!! I think I learned more history in this program than in my history classes at college! :funny:
Some of the clips I already knew about, but there were several that really surprised me. Mainly the stuff back in the 50's & 60's I had no clue about, or the extent to what really happened to these rock stars!
Anyway, if you have VH1, you should check this program out!
Yea, I saw it a long time ago. It' mazing how crazy & F-ed up the history of rock is!

I saw it a few months ago. It was kind of fun to watch, but I didn't see the whole thing either.
The top 5 were:
5. Marvin Gaye murdered by his father.
4. Kurt Cobain commits suicide.
3. A fan murdered at Altamont by the Hell's Angels who were acting as "bodyguards" for the Rolling Stones.
2. Michael Jackson accused of sexual abuse
1. John Lennon's murder.
Actually, there's a website that lists them all:

I thought that number 68 was the most bizarre:funny:
I thought that number 18 should have been ranked higher:shocked:

Thanks Geronimo!
I agree, #68 would be quite the shocker!
Also, what kind of person bites the head off of a dove? What a nutt!
I don't see number one as being the most shocking. But, maybe if I was a huge fan of his it would be.
Thanks again! :p

Alice Cooper's audience tears apart a chicken (1969)

I probably shouldn't post the words that went through my head after I read this, or I'd get band from the forum! This kind of crap makes me so mad! :furious: I know it's just a chicken, but I'm a huge animal lover. :furious:

Some of the things on that list are pretty disgusting. I had heard the Alice Cooper "chicken story" before. Here's his version of what happened:
We played the Toronto Peace Festival with John Lennon, Yoko Ono, and the Doors. While we were on, somebody from the audience threw a chicken on stage. I'm from Detroit, I'm not a farm kid. I figured a chicken had wings, it'll fly away. So I took the chicken and threw it and it didn't fly. It went into the audience. Blood everywhere. The next day, everybody's reading, "Alice Cooper rips chicken's head off, drinks blood." Zappa called me. He said, "Whatever you did, keep doing it." To this day, wherever I'm booked the ASPCA is usually there, too.
