Fire Up Those VCRs!!

"Shania Twain: Driven" premieres on VH1 (US) 1/15/02 9:00pm ET/PT; 1/16 2:00am & 6:00pm; 1/19 6:00pm; 1/20 7pm. This is a new special produced by VH1 (US) about Shania's early pre-fame years, with rare performance footage and exclusive interviews with some of those who "knew Shania when..." It will fill in
some of the gaps not included in her excellent "Behind The Music" profile.

Here's the official announcement

Driven' to Stardom - It Isn't Always
Pretty; New VH1 Series Debuts on
'Breakout' Tuesday, January 15 at
9:00 p.m. (ET/PT)

Never-Before-Seen Footage and New Interviews
With Friends, Family, Teachers and Others
Highlight 'Driven,' Focusing on Shania Twain,
Britney Spears, Madonna, Marilyn Manson,
Jennifer Lopez and More Top Stars

PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Once
upon a time, Britney Spears, Madonna and Marilyn Manson
weren't household names. So what did they have to do break out
of the pack and reach the top of the music world?

The new VH1 series ``Driven'' brings the music world's biggest
pop icons' unknown pasts to life with footage that the public has
never seen, plus interviews with those special people who played
integral roles in their development as artists and individuals,
providing a rare glimpse at what they were really like. ``Driven:
Shania Twain'' kicks off the new series, premiering Tuesday,
January 15 at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT), part of VH1's ``Breakout
Tuesday'' night of programming. Upcoming one-hour episodes of
``Driven'' will focus on Britney Spears (January 22), Madonna
(February 5), Marilyn Manson (February 12), Jennifer Lopez
(February 19) and others.

There's no such thing as overnight success -- over time, like a
jigsaw puzzle, pieces are added, small breakthroughs are made,
and eventually the picture of a pop star begins to take shape.
``Driven'' traces that process from childhood to the first glimmer of stardom, through the eyes of those who knew the artist best and helped play pivotal roles in their development -- teachers, family members, friends, and creative partners. With each episode of ``Driven'' dedicated to a single artist, the show looks at the stars' blueprints for success and what propelled them to achieve it despite the obstacles that lay in their paths.

Viewers can go to VH1.com and check out a photo flip-book of rare and never-before-seen pics of the artists, rare or exclusive video clips of the artists in their early days, and other features and info on the artists featured in the series.

``Driven'' is a production of VH1. Executive producers, Shelly Tatro, Elyse Zaccaro; supervising producer, Suzanne Ross.

Thanks for the heads up, Claudia!!!!!

I don't have a VCR that works in recording mode, so I'll have to watch it five times and try to remember.

Maybe VH1 will put all these Driven stories out on a DVD eventually.

But anyway thanks for the heads up.

Just a thought for the Canadian people who don't get VH1... when I was in Canada I noticed that Much Music or Much More Music (one of them or maybe both) showed LOTS of VH1 shows, so you might very well get it there too!!! So don't get all depressed!

And then there's us poor Swiss people... without VH1, without CMT... life sucks! :p Hehe.
