I just bought a copy of "In Blue" by The Corrs and it's incredible http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif The tracks produced by Mutt are his best work with a band (aside from Shania) in years! There have been posts speculating as to whether Mutt's work with Spears on "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" might be a sign of things to come on Shania's next release. If anything, I hope that songs like "Breathless" & "Irresistable" are a peek of the direction that Shania & Mutt might be taking musically. These songs actually sound like something Shania would choose to sing. If you are a Corrs fan and haven't bought a copy of "In Blue" yet, do! Even if you have never bought any of their pervious releases and are looking for something to help ease those Shania withdrawls, this is the album for you!
Heather, they should pay you well for this free comercial. http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif
I understand you bought the album. Now I don’t have it, it will be a while until they bring it in Romania and I’m not sure I got the time with these lousy net connections to download some material through Napster. So I’m talking blindly here. Anyway, a friend of mine mailed me from Chicago saying that he bought the album, and also saw the Corrs on Jay Leno. He’s not a Shania fan, in fact I never really asked, but he’s a Corrs fan. He said that in his opinion they are one of the few bands that sound much better live than on the album. Now I overheard some opinions stating that the sound of the album is not the right one, the way it has been produced actually disadvantages the Corrs, considering their past albums and what people are used to and expect from them. And I’ve also heard some accusations that they lost a bit of the Irish influence on their music on the album. So is this true? Since there are some people here who listen a lot to the Corrs too, I think it could be the right place to ask for a competent opinion on this, at least until I’ll get the album myself. I only heard Breathless and I don’t think it’s wise to form an opinion about an entire album based on one song.
One more thing. It’s funny how the Corrs became the second subject of talks after Shania in the last few weeks. I wonder if they are talking about Shania on the Corrs forums. If they are and we keep this up, who knows, maybe we’ll unite the two forums by the end of the year. http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif

The new songs definitely sound MUCH better live than on the album, the old ones are good both ways.

It is SO true! The new sound is different... not bad, but different.

We are, and many of the people on the Corrs forums also like Shania. Maybe Shania should just join the Corrs... oh well, Andrea wouldn't be too pleased to have a second lead singer in the group though... *lol* It's so cool that my favorite band and my favorite singer became "connected" that way! Thank you Mutt! It was actually him who wanted to work with the Corrs, not the other way round...

Manu, so you feel guilty for bringing the Corrs on our forum. Good. I like people with an auto-critic spirit. http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/wink.gif

Yes Londo, they should hire me as their PR woman http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif I remember hearing "Runaway" back when I was in high school and I fell in love with it. I'm half Irish and I truly enjoy Celtic music. I don't think they have completely abandoned their roots. There are tracks that have bits and pieces of Celtic fiddles and whistles. But, it's beautifully blended in with a more modern sound. I think this album is a gem. I just can't say enough about it http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif
Well, Heather, I'll take your word for it that it's something to experience. Will have to put it on my back burner til I have some time tho. Thanks for the tip.

Heather: You said you loved "Runaway", I don't know if you've already heard their "Unplugged"-album, but if not you just have to listen to it (or download it from *cough*Napster*cough*) then you will see why I said they abandoned their celtic sound on "In Blue"!!! "Unplugged" is soo good!
I'm not saying I don't like "In Blue" though, it's a good album. What are your favorite songs? (please don't say "Breathless" *lol*) Mine are "Somebody for someone", "Give me a reason" (this one should have become the 2nd single, not "Irresistible"!!!), "No more cry", "Hurt before" and of course Sharon's masterpiece, "Rebel heart". The version of "Radio" is so terrible, it's such a wonderful song on "Unplugged", but what have they done with it on "In Blue"???
Does anyone have a favorite Corr? Mine is Caroline, that drummer girl rocks and I love her love her lover her!!! *lol*
Oh and the American CD-cover is just sooo much better than the international one! Ours is really bad, they all look like Posh Spice wannabes.
Londo: yeah, I feel very guilty about that Corr-invasion... http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/wink.gif

What is the forum that you join of the Corrs?
I like them too. Of the new album I like of course the songs Mutt has written. But also Give me a reason, Somebody for Someone, At your side, No more cry, Give it all up and Hurt before. I deffinetly don't like this version of Radio, it's good at Unplugged, but this surtainly isn't! I also have the other albums, and they are good too.
My favourite Corr. Well, I don't know, because I don't know them as well as Shania. I didn't read much about them, but saw a few interviews and so on. I think I like Andrea most.

Mutt hasn't written them alone... http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/wink.gif
This is the URL for the Corrsonline forum (Corrsonline is the best Corrs-site!!!):
http://www.corrsonline.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi
Maybe we'll meet there, I have the same nick as here. http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif

Oke, I'll try that forum too. And I'm going to look for you, then I know somebody!
Manu, it’s ok as far as you don’t bring another invasion, something related to some Scandinavian folklore creatures, creatures found sometimes around bridges, if you know what I’m talking about. http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif

Sorry Manu, I have to say it lol. "Breathless" & "Irresistible" are my favorites http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif Mutt has a way of creating magic. Of course I can't take any of the credit from The Corrs. They are amazing musicians and songwriters. I also love "Give Me A Reason", "In One Day" & "Rain". I knew of the band because of "Runaway", but ufortunately they seemed to dissapear after that. I would hear that song every so often and wonder what happened to them. Well now i know that I have been missing out on a lot of wonderful things lol. Thank God for the internet! American radio is so limited to bubblegum and rap. It's really pathetic. I have been thinking about buying "Talk On Corners" & the "Unplugged" album. I'm certain that they will both be excellent http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif
My favorite Corr? Jim! Forgive me for gushing, but he's a cutie!
