Shania's upcoming album will probably be released later this year or sometime in 2001.Like all of my fellow Twaniacs I am looking forward to seeing what Shania has in store for us with her new album. Will it be like the more mainstream sound of COO? Or will she go back to her country roots and release something like TWIM? I would personally like to see her expand on the kind of sound that was showcased on the International version of COO. Let the opines and predictions begin http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif

I think that Shania should surpirse us, do a COO maybe again. You know both pop and country so it can go both ways you know. Like COO!!!! She should give it more of a pop edge though. I can wait for new material but I love all the other. ~JaSoN

First, I would like Shania's voice to go back sounding lower like on her first two albums. Her voice sounds higher and more "studio perfected" (Man, I'm know someone's going to yell at me for saying that). Her voice sounded more natural and with none or minimal help from the studio in her first two albums. For her next album, I'd love for it to sound more like "The Woman in Me," but I don't think it's going to happen because she has too many pop fans. But I hope she doesn't taker her pop/rock sound farther than she already has. "Come on Over" is really on the edge of country music. Any farther, and country fans will be yelling at her for not being country enough.

Right now, I couldn't care less what kind of music she does as long as it's Shania Twain and she does something. Who cares as long as it's Shania. Will be great to hear from her again.

Shanila: I understand what you are saying about not wanting Shania's next album to become too pop/rock because of her country fans. But what about her pop fans that don't want country. I myself hate country music, except I love Shania, just because she's her, and the way she sings, but I have friends who like her songs like From This Moment On, Man I Feel Like a Woman etc. but are afraid to become real fans because of the "country" label that Shania has. Personally I think that Shania should maybe do something simliar to what she did with Come On Over- release a more country album, and then a pop version with pop remixes. But I do agree with you in that Shania's next album should be more like the Woman In Me. The songs on that album sound more like "Shania". I would listen to WIM more if I was a country fan.

SHANILIA: I don't know if anyone is going to yell at you for what you said, but I personally am glad that someone thinks like me... I also thought that her voice sounded much much more amazing on TWIM...not to say that COO was bad...but TWIM was more...I don't know, more Shania http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif Of course keeping in mind that an artist has got to grow as time passes and stuff like that...but me (being one of her "pop" fans -- I'm from the pop targetted region)... I still prefer TWIM even though I love COO to death http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif As I said somewhere else on this board...TWIM is magic...COO just rocks this world http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif
So as a pop fan...please Shania give us another TWIM!

Actually, this probably sounds dumb, but I would love to have just like..an interview album, where all she does is talk like in behind the music....i just love hearing what she has to say..ya know

I see it this way: A true fan should not care what the next cd should be. I like country but I'm more of a Rock n Roll kinda guy. I don't really care just as long it's Shania. http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif

To me Shania sounds the same in all 3 cd's. In COO she sung the songs a little bit different because that's how they were written.

I'm with Wild One, it doesn't matter how her next CD sounds, as long as it's Shania. I do love country, but I like pop too. Shania has a great voice for either one, so I don't really care, I'm buying the cd anyways. I know it will be good no matter what form of music she does it in!!

Oh we're all going to buy the CD the minute it hits music stores http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif And we're all going to love it too...this is just about preferences...no matter what she does, Shania rocks!!!

It will be interesting how Shania presents her new cd. Exactly what will be on it and how it will sound I really don't have much idea. What I have heard is that it wil be more introspective (hopefully I am using the right word there) and it has been rumored that it may have some spanish influence but whether or not that part is true is unknown. I personally believe Shania will develop her songs in a new fashion from the old songs. The first album was country, the second pop/rock, and the third more pop then country. Now she may want to go back to more country but I find that highly unlikely. Chances are that she will mix her new sound with another type of music style in order to create a new sound for people to enjoy. Plus she makes more money by changing styles the way she has. The other opinion I have is there may be more slow songs on the album than the last because introspective songs taht I have heard usually imply a slowness. But that is my opinion.

Stephania5: As I said in my previous post, I doubt Shania's going to make another "The Woman in Me" album because of her pop fans. I did like your idea about releasing pop remixes. But I like the idea of Shania releasing a more country sounding album than "Come on Over" and then releasing pop remixes to pop radio. "Come On Over" sounds like a pop/rock instead of country/pop album to me.

La: Yeah, I agree that Shania sounds more like herself in "The Woman in Me." She has that really low alto drawl that's sounds dramatic and country. I wish Shania would lean towards country more. "Come on Over" didn't sound like a country album to me even though many people said the country flavor was there. Well, I didn't taste it. Oh wells.

How would you feel if she did another country album like Shanilla mentioned, only release a pop version of the same album to all her fans who aren't too crazy about country? I "borrowed" that idea from the way they released two versions of COO.

Heather

I like that idea. It might be more work for Mutt and Shania, but if anyone can pull it off they can http://www.shania.net/shaniaforum/smile.gif

I'm agree with all those who think that "Come On Over" isn't country

enough. Songs such as "When" or "Black Eyes, Blue Tears" couldn't be

cosidered as "country"!!!! Shania MUST include as much fiddles and

steel guitares as possible in her next album!

I hope Shania to stay "country" but "contemporary country!". I'm agree

with Larry that the next album should be "country" and with special

"pop" version for those fans who don't like country too much.Shania

shouldn't neglect the country fans because of hers worldwide populari-

ty. I think that at least 70% of all Shania's fans are mainly country

fans!!!!!!!!! But most of all it's Shania and Mutt's own music so they

will decide how will it sound- more pop or more country...

Also, I predict HUGE sales for the next album! I'm sure it will reach

#1 at the "TOP 200 Billboard Chart" and Shania will win much more

awards than those she won for "Come On Over"! I hope the next album to

become the 4th best selling album for all time! SHANIA MANIA IS ON THE

WAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go, SHANIA !!!!!!!!!!!

Shania's last album was not very coutry because that is not the type music Shania has done her entire life. She has always been a mix and sometimes she goes a little more toward country and others a little more toward rock. Listen to beginnings and just about everythying on there is pop. I doubt she will ever go one direction or the other because Shania has created her own music category and that is one of the main reasons I like her sooo much!
