Daniel Pearl, the Wall Street Journalist kidnapped in Pakistan last month is dead. His kidnappers sent a videotape to US and Pakistani officials showing the murder. The kidnappers slit his throat on tape. This is so sad. My thoughts are with his family.
Here's the article.

We sometimes believe that we all share some common elements of what we call humanity.
But things like this make me think otherwise.
And then I think I do not want to pass these bad situations on to my children or grandchildren.
I owe them that.
I owe them the knowledge of right and wrong.
I owe them the example of what it means to stand against what is wrong, and to stand for what is right.
And my hope is they too will be strong enough to stand for the same.
No matter the cost.
For the cost of doing otherwise is simply too great.
Because when we lose our common humanity, who are we?

I agree with Dave's sentiments - thanks for putting this up Eilsel - I know we don't generally come to the forums for this kind of news but we all need to stop and think occasionally what would be the state of the world if every country sat on their collective hands and let terrorists reign supreme!

My first thoughts are with his family, especially his pregnant wife. :(
I agree with Bob, we cannot let terrorism continue on this planet! :furious: War is never a good thing, but it's our only option that we have to end terrorism.
This is very sad news, I was afraid they would kill him. :(
I know his wife was having complications with her pregnancy due to the stress of this situation. I sure hope her baby is born healthy. I sure don't want her to lose her baby, along with her husband!
