View Full Version : How Old Do You Plan to be When You Get Married????

Do you have a plan for when you anticipate you will get married? Tell us about it.
If you have no real plan or goal set for this giant step in your life tell us what your thoughts are about marriage and when you think it might happen or when you would like it to happen.
Also please indicate the size of family you would most like to have.
Also describe your ideal mate.
Interesting topic Bobbito. :p I don't have any solid plans in mind but I'd say in my late 20's or early 30's. I think marriage is a wonderful thing but I also think it's something you shouldn't get into too soon. Dating couples need to take their time to really get to know each other before they take that big next step.
Ideally maybe one or two kids (if any :p) would be nice. Too many kids could really wear you down over time. :funny: I'd seriously consider adopting a child but that would depend on how my partner felt about adoption. I feel like that would be very rewarding for both the child and myself & partner. :)
My ideal mate... hmmm. Someone who's nice, kind, caring, loving, open, honest, has a sense of humor, enjoys to laugh :p, has an appreciation for the truely important things in life and someone who likes have fun together.

I think getting married in the late 20īs or early 30īs too.
I want to have two children, I donīt care if itīs a boy or a girl.
My ideal man is someone who is funny, who isnīt a show off, honest, and not too good-looking! I donīt like that model-types. :rolleyes:

I think when I find the right person I will get married. I'm in no hurry though. :) I'm just 21, I have my whole life ahead of me, I plan on concentrating on career first.
The ideal man would be one that loves me for who I am. I believe in honesty, so he would have to be 100% honest with me all the time. I'm also a personality buff ... people might think it's corney, but I really do look at a persons inside being more than their outside. :) As far as children go, I think 2 or 3 would fit me. :)

Well, this is just a guess. . . . but I'll probably be getting married on September 21st, 2002. :p
(Just 5 days before my 24th birthday)
I always figured I'd get married when I was 25 years old, so I'll be pretty close to that.
I think marriage is a wonderful thing. At the same time people need to be careful when finding the right person. 90% of a persons joy/frustration will come from their spouse. That said, it's very important to find the right person.
Unfortunately, I have several friends who are in their 30's and scared to death to get married. They're afraid they'll pick the wrong person, which is very sad. They should move at their own pace, because marriage isn't something to rush into. But I sure hope one day they feel comfortable enough to take the plunge.:)
For me I've already found the perfect mate!:p Shane is 32 years old, so he's already been around the block & is past his wild days. I can trust him no matter what, which is a great thing because trust is extremely important in a relationship! We get along so well and we have very similiar outlooks on life. We are very committed to one another too. I could go on more. . but I'll stop. ;)
I'm not gonna marry anyone. I don't really believe in love that lasts forever (don't ask) and if the relationship ends, you can just pack your things and go. No "paperwork".
This is JMO!

I wanna get married in my 20's! And I think I want 2 kids.
My guy has got to be SWEET, caring, funny and smart AND ROMANTIC lol
oh and i think marriage is awesome! I just have a feeling im gonna get divorced 500 times because it's not too easy to satisfy me:scowl:

I got married on my 24th birthday! :) Of course my wife is a woman like myself (as you all know... :D), but for me our wedding, even though not "legal", was the most wonderful day in my whole life!
We already have two wonderful girls who Moni brought into our relationship, but we definitely want more! Moni wants a boy first but I want a girl. :D Hehe. No, I mean, I don't care as long as they're healthy! :)
And I hope that one day something will happen that changes my best friend's feelings about this! :love:

:shocked: That's totally how I feel! About the "no paperwork" thing. I believe that a friendship can last forever, though. Because within friendships, you have times where you are closer to that person, or a little more distant at other times. But in a marriage, you're not allowed to do that.

well i just wanted to say good luck to all of yall on your plans .marrage is a big step but i beleave there is someone for everyone .even thow i feel let down on love right now .i guess thats why i havent been posting latly cause of my marrage probs .but hopefull everythang goes fine.

My parents have been married for over 20 years and my mom once said that the love grows even more, the longer you're married. I don't really know why I feel the way I feel, because I actually have very good "idols" in my parents...:uhh:

I just meant that I'd be afraid to get involved with someone and then not have the feelings last forever... steph - never be afraid of love or marriage - they are both very fine things in life - the best - as a matter of fact - the thing is to be as certain as you possibly can your choice is correct one for you and him - if you both are very sure of your love for one another then marriage is just peachy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to find this out the hard way the second time around but it works fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Aaawww sweetie! Don't worry. Maybe your opinion will change some day. But if not, it doesn't matter. Romantic relationships aren't all there is in life. As long as you're happy in whatever you're doing. :)

Well I say to my family I'm having no kids and not getting married!
I want me and my money to myself :p I know that's selfish but I'm young and OBVIOUSLY don't know what to think in "this department" :p :D So whatever happens, happens, I don't think about it a whole lot.
