Help with building a website

I was talking to Andrea (Jess) and we decided we want to start writing again, but want to be able to be free and write whatever we want. So, we proposed the idea that we could start a website, not linked at all with the shania forums, and you guys can send e-mails to us or whatever and we'll post them on to the story.

The only problem is, we don't know how to build a website in which we could have links to stories or whatever. Sooooooo if anyone knows how to, say it here and maybe you can give us some help on how to do it. Thanks!

Yeah. I figure that these stories-no matter how un..sexual- will make someone unhappy. My guess is that at least 2 -4 people on this board think that that just any stories in themselves shouldnt be going on...even if it were written in the form of a childrens book. I can guarentee that even somthing very slight will make someone tick.

The ONLY way that we wont get stoped once or twice a month...is to take them away from here...so that anyone who WANTS to see them..can. And anyone that doesnt agree with them...doesnt have to come. So if anyone has any info on how to build a website..we would be very greatful :)

something i don't understand is, why do the people who don't like the stories for whatever reasons, coment on how rude or bad they happen to be, but then probably continue to read them and continue to coment on them? If they did enjoy the reading the first time, why did they continue???? Maybe these people don't find the stories all that bad, but just don't want to admit it :rolleyes: . anyway, thats just the way i see it in my head... Don't want to be rude or make anyone feel bad either, and if i did, SORRY!

Sounds like you and Andrea have come up with a good plan. I was never opposed to anything said in this forum, but understand why some did. Some of the things bein' said could have been offencive for young viewers.

lilly- thats something i didnt get too...but for whatever reason....people that disapprove do keep coming back...and keep seeing things they dont agree with..then comment. My thoughts were..ifyou dont like it ...dont read it. Oh well....it didnt work lol

slope- Well...if ya think about it....posters here....are probably mostly in the top ten youngest people here lol ;) Its mostly offensive to the older people. Because they think it is not appropriate or offensive to...us younger people lol..its kinda funny really :p

That is true Andrea. I know you are all just having some fun. I do see your point and the irony in what you are saying. Again, I am not one of those objecting. I am sure we have some 10 year olds looking in here from time to time. My feelings about that is that they would not find it enjoyable reading anyways. So why worry about it.

I think it’s cool that u want to start your own website! I started my own awhile back, but I haven’t had any time to update it. I use the Yahoo geocities software, it’s really easy to master and best of all, it’s free:D So u both should definitely try out that service:) So good luck!


I also want to say that I am sorry u both feel that you have to take your writing elsewhere. I am all for creativity and having fun when it comes down to expressing yourself:) But, please understand that as a Moderator my hands are tied. There are rules that I have to enforce and follow. It’s not that I want to stomp all over your creative freedoms, I certainly don’t. But when u are writing about two people who actually exist, it is easy to float into controversial waters. Writing is essentially about life and its hard not to want to steer your characters into very personal territory. But, out of respect for Shania, we have to keep it PG. I hope u guys understand where I am coming from.

I actually would like to see this forum converted into a Forum Memebers Fiction and Poetry Forum. We are limited by posting only Shania-related fan fiction. I also am concerned that the forum will eventually become dead space here because of this limitation. So, I am going to see if we can’t make a change:) I think that would open the forum up to more variety and keep it interesting:) I’ll keep u guys updated!

Heather- I totally understand what you are saying. And i know that as a moderator you have to abide by rules and..stuff lol. it would be great if this turned into a "creative work" forum :)
