Hi guys! I'm home alone, and really bored tonight. So I decided to go surfing around, reading peoples' stories about tattooing experiences. Tattoos have always been a strange fascination of mine. I'm not sure why.. Maybe because I love doodling, I dunno.
So I thought I'd come here and post a little topic about tattoos, for those who like them (like me! :D) You can just talk about whatever you want, opinions, stories of your own tattoos, dreams to get one...
Here's my story
My cousin, who's 28, has a tattoo. She got it done last year, and when she told me I totally started freaking out! She's my closest cousin, and it just scared me so much that she did this to herself. But then I stepped back and thought "Hey, you love tattoos, why are you freaking out?" But it was the fact that it was of a band's logo that kinda bugged me. No matter how much you think you love a band/singer, you never know when you might stop liking them.. Anyway, that summer, she introduced me to her boyfriend He had a tattoo of a Canada flag on his right bicep. I thought this was just soooooo cool! They said they were going to get another one done together, and I could come when they did! :D
I've always had this feeling of wanting a tattoo. I know I'm only 14, but atleast by the time I'm old enough, I'll have had lots of time to think about it. If I ever decide to get one done, I'm not just going to decide on the design the day I get it done. It's going to be on you for your whole life, so you want to make sure you like it. I'll also do some investigating with the place I'm getting it done at. Make sure EVERYTHING is sterile, and they make me feel comfortable. They should be patient, and answer all your questions. Thirdly, I will choose where I want it carefully too. I don't want it on my arm or something like that, where it can always be seen. I might get it on an ankle, or my back. As for a design... Maybe a maple leaf, like Terri Clark...
So, anyone else want to write an essay like I did? ;)

I'd like to get a tattoo of Oklahoma with a small vortecie (tornado) coming out of it. Or with the 'nado coming out of a Chevrolet emblem.

To me tattoos are dumb but some of my closest relatives and friends have them so what do I know?

I would never have one on me and have never even given it any serious consideration or thought.

Remember the "Jay" tattoo Shania had when she was on The Tonight Show? That was funny. If I were to ever get a tattoo it would be of Shania:) . But I don't think I'd ever want one though.

I have 2. They're very small and you can't see them unless I have on a bathing suit or a midriff. I had one of Kermit the frog right below my bikini line on my left side but got it covered w/ a rose, it's about an inch in diameter. My other one is a small dolphin on the small of my back, it's about 2 inches in diameter.

When I was younger (18...19) I thought about getting one. I have always liked the rose Anton Corbijn used on the cover of DM's album Violator. If I would have gotten it, it would have been on the small of my back. But, a friend of mine got one on her ankle and the result was a very gross infection:uhh: Then I thought about how a tatoo would look when I am older. What is cute and trendy at 20 smacks of old biker chick at 50, so I decided to forgo that experience:)

While I don't think I'll have to worry about being mistaken for a biker chick, I feel the same way. :p I'll pass.

I have known lots of biker's gals without tattoos - of course they were mainly professional types driving Hondas, not your Harley crowd.

I agree with Laura- they do show personality. I'm not sure if I'll ever get one. But if it is, it will definately be in a place that's not too visible.

I have my wifes name tattooed around one of my fingers. I would like to have a tattoo on my arm using my wifes name again somehow and then on the other arm I'd like to have Daffy Duck.

You must really like Daffy Duck!!! :p

I wish you could get removeable tattoos. Like, you could get them, but if you didn't like them, you could do something and it would just go away. (scientific, eh?) Or tattoos that only lasted a couple years, so if you didn't like it, it would be the end of the world.
On MTV's Becoming Blink 182, the guys got fake tattoos painted on them. That might be a good idea to do if you're considering a tattoo and you wanna know what it'd look like.
Last summer at Canada's Wonderland I got a Henna tattoo. Those things are cool too! It was a symbol that meant "Smile". :D :)

A girl on my school soccer team got one when she was in grade 10 when they went on a school trip to Quebec. She would have only been about 16 then! Wow. It looks more like a henna tattoo right now- it's raised up because it got all scabbed over when she first got it.

Yes I do like Daffy Duck. He makes me laugh. Do you think I need help.
My wife doesn't like tattoos much and wasn't that impressed when I suggested getting her name tattooed on my arm, so you can imagine what she said when I said about Daffy going on my other arm.

:p That would have been so cool! One of my teachers had a tattoo on her ankle of the symbol meaning "woman". It's the one Melanie C. has. Aaaww... I bet if Sandy was standing in front of you while you were getting tattooed, you wouldn't even notice the pain! :p
