Theres some good people I know at that board. The Trads, or 'fogies' as they like to be called are pretty quiet people. Its the dinks upstairs in 'Smash & Trash'.

Most of the people I knew there have left the board, for pitty squabbles between Shania fans (and about other 'equals', like LeAnn, Billy Gilman, anybody that could be picked on) and the people who couldn't ignore them. Then after it turned to iKonboard, I left too.

I actually got banned off the CW board about a month or so ago for defending Shania & Chely Wright! I didn't care at all though that I got banned. I told them what I thought of them :supwink: . I think I got banned though for the posts I posted to that one guy bandfan. In the Chely post I said some pretty hmmm well nice things he he :]

I actually got banned off the CW board about a month or so ago for defending Shania & Chely Wright! I didn't care at all though that I got banned. I told them what I thought of them :supwink: . I think I got banned though for the posts I posted to that one guy bandfan. In the Chely post I said some pretty hmmm well nice things he he :]

I'm never buying CW again though. I hate that magazine & that it lets people post such trash! I've been a subsriber to it since it came out but , not no more! Anyways the Country Weekly board is about the worst ones on the net. Wow, I just joined here to be able to talk more about wonderful Shania, I still post and read over at CW, but find those comments very harsh. I know all about what goes on there and here too for that matter, but to put me in the category of being hated and being a loud mouthed jerk and a coward etc., wow.......that's just not right. Like every board on the net, you will find trouble makers and opinions that are different from your own, not just at CW.
Please, don't make me second guess joining here............

(btw, there are a number of people over at CW that come here too, which is how I found this board. Food for thought.)

Hello Twain Fan 97 and Shania X 64, nice to be here!

Timmins.....well, I have had occasion to meet Shania's brother Mark a number of times, and her other brother, but that's about it. My ex and his family were born and raised here, I'm kind of an outsider. They seem to be very familiar with Shania and her sister and have had a story or two over the years. They are all very, very proud (rightfully so!), and have many fond memories. I am about 7 minutes outside of Timmins in South Porcupine, but I didn't think anyone would have heard of it :p
It's amazing to see the love and warmth everyone has for her! A co-worker of mine lived behind Shania when she rented a house in Huntsville, Ont. That was when she was doing her amazing shows at the Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville. She was looking after the brothers then and they were apparently quite a handful.

Sorry I wasn't meaning you but , when I was at the CW board all people were doing was bashing Shania. The CW board is a disgrace to the magazine. Opinions are one thing but , the stuff they post go's far beyond an opinion. Any true Shania fan would not want to associate with people who post stuff such as that or condone it. Sorry but , I hate that board esp that one bandfan guy. He acts like he owns the board. He even had the nerve to tell me I didn't belong there because I posted about how cool I thought SheDaisy's new song was. He said that the CW board was country & they wasn't then went on to say I needed to leave the board because I mentioned them. The only people I was meaning what I said to is ones like that & the bashers.

I second that Vega! I don't respect anyone's opinions who consistently bash some for no reason other than jealousy. Opinions are one thing but , the stuff they say is ridiculous & that one guy thinks he owns the board over there. If anyone posts about Shania he sticks his nose in to bash her. I hate boards like that if your a real fan of someone , no one would want to read such stuff all day , every day. Your right she is better than them

Unfortunately, the Country Weekly Board is infamous for it's Shania haters! Several of us have joined there in an effort to balance the scales, but the Shania bashers just start slinging mud and the debates degenerate into all out war! It is a waste of time to try and reason with them as they are very single minded! It is really a shame as there are many good people there both pro and anti Shania who have made a genuine effort to respect each others views, however the few bad apples ruin it for everyone! I urge Shania fans to stay away unless they are into constant arguing with no fruitful results! I agree that Talkalot has made a tremendous effort on Shania's behalf as have other Shania fans, however Talkalot and the others have been fighting this battle for the past year and have gained nothing but an increased knowledge of foul language! It's really sad to see and I agree that the board is a disgrace to the magazine!

I might add the magazine itself is a disgrace to the country music genre. It is traditionalist to the extreme, has next to no music reviews and those it provides are invariably favorable and as useful as garbage and they are cheerleaders for the favorite flavors of the month and in no way offer intelligent commentary about the industry or the artists.

I agree with you on that as well. My subscription to it runs out next month & I am not going to renew! I use to like the mag but , lately it's really gone down hill!

I do not know when it started its downhill slide but it has been going on for sometime or mebbe I just look at it more critically nowadays.
