KEVIN LANE TO DEPART MERCURY

Senior director of media relations for Mercury Records Nashville, Kevin Lane, has decided to move on and will leave his post after Fan Fair in June. Lane is currently Senior director of media relations for Mercury, responsible for creating and coordinating national exposure for major recording artist performers including media, showcases and awards campaigns. Lane's experience includes his time with Mercury Nashville, Network Ink, Atlantic Records, Sony Music and MCA Records. Kevin is also a Comprehensive Care Center board member, member of CMA, ACM and Nashville Entertainment Association. He'll be in Los Angeles for the ACM awards next week and will see the label through another Fan Fair before leaving the job.


Now why would someone who should be deeply involved in coordinating the re-entry of the biggest star on the label, be packing it in at this time? Could Shania & Mutt be involved here, possibly wanting someone from their camp in this crucial position? It will be interesting to see who gets the job. The stakes are high.

Maybe he just got another Job offer??....Maybe he is tired of his work, it might be too stressful....Who knows, but I doubt Shania and Mutt have something to do with it....
