Bee Gee member Maurice Gibb just passed away.
It was just reported that Maurice Gibb, one of the founding members of the band the Bee Gees just died from a cardiac arrest. This is very sad and I feel bad for the family. First Andy, now Maurice. Some families are cursed with misfortune.

I tried to change the thread title from Maurice Gee to Gibb, but I had no luck.

They were icons in the disco music era, but they were much more then that. They were strong from the late sixties on. May he RIP. God Bless.

Rest in peace Maurice.
The Bee Gees was, and still is one of the best pop groups in music history. So many beautiful songs....
HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE
I know your eyes in the morning sun
I feel you touch me in the pouring rain
And the moment that you wander far from me
I wanna feel you in my arms again
And you come to me on a summer breeze
Keep me warm in your love and then softly leave
And it's me you need to show ....
How deep is your love? (how deep is your love?)
I really need to learn
'Cause we're living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me
I believe in you
You know the door to my very soul
You're the light in my deepest darkest hour
You're my saviour when I fall
And you may not think
I care for you
When you know down inside
That I really do
And it's me you need to show ....
How deep is your love? (how deep is your love?)
I really need to learn
'Cause we're living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me
How deep is your love? (how deep is your love?)
I really need to learn
'Cause we're living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me
How deep is your love? (how deep is your love?) ......

I just found this quote about them, it sure sounds like something that can be said about another singer we all like....
"But their huge popularity and knack for unforgettable hooks never won them credibility.
Paul Trynka, editorial director of the music magazine Mojo, said yesterday that people had begun to reassess the Bee Gees in the last few years: "They were as inventive as many other bands who are better regarded. Their songwriting was pretty original; they had a unique sound. But we tend to resent people who are too successful and I think they suffered from that"

Family of Bee Gee Maurice Gibb questions treatment
By Michael Connor
MIAMI, Jan 13 (Reuters) - The family of singer Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees, who died after abdominal surgery at the age of 53, is questioning the hospital's treatment at the time of his death.
Brother Barry Gibb, 55, told the British Broadcasting Corporation late on Sunday the family would fight to discover the truth about Maurice's death.
"The fact that they had to operate on Maurice during the shock of cardiac arrest, is very questionable, and we will pursue every factor, every element, every second of the timeline of the final hours of Maurice's life," Barry Gibb told the BBC.
"We will pursue that relentlessly. That will be our quest from now on," he said.
Authorities at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he was treated, could not be reached for comment.
Gibb, whose harmonies with his twin, Robin, and older brother Barry helped create one of the best-selling groups of the rock 'n' roll era, collapsed on Thursday at his Miami home after suffering intense stomach pain and was rushed to Mount Sinai Medical Center.
He "experienced cardiac arrest" before his surgery on an intestinal blockage, the hospital said. After the operation and until he died, he was listed in critical but stable condition.
No time of death was given but it appeared to have been very early on Sunday.
Barry said he had been told that Maurice's intestines were twisted because of a congenital defect and that doctors had removed 80 percent of his stomach.
He told the BBC that Maurice's death had "decimated" the lives of his wife Yvonne, and their two children, Adam and Samantha, who are in their 20s.
"It has just destroyed them. It's going to take them years to come to terms with the loss of Maurice. He was everything to them," he said.
But Barry promised that the Bee Gees would carry on, even after Maurice's death, and would record another album.
"The Bee Gees will not stop here. The Bee Gees will not disintegrate because we've lost Mo," he said.
"LIKED BEING SILLY"
Maurice, who always wore a hat and an Alcoholics Anonymous lapel badge, was the most outgoing member of the Bee Gees.
"Maurice liked being silly," Barry added. "I think his whole grasp of life was silly. I think we all are but Maurice really excelled.
"He was an extrovert. He would never walk into a room. Maurice would prance into a room. And his presence was immediate."
Maurice became a heavy drinker, and briefly dabbled in cocaine. He sobered up in the early 1990s.
Born on the Isle of Man and raised in Manchester, the Gibbs emigrated to Australia with their parents in 1958. They called themselves the Bee Gees (for Brothers Gibb) and toiled in obscurity until the late 1960s. By then, the trio had moved back to Britain and enjoyed such early hits as "To Love Somebody" and "Words."
As would be the case throughout the career, the Bee Gees often fell out of favour. They broke up briefly around 1970, and suffered a series of flops for the first half of the decade.
They entered pop immortality with their 1977 soundtrack to the film "Saturday Night Fever," which sold more than 40 million copies. The album yielded such hits as "Stayin' Alive," "Night Fever" and "How Deep Is Your Love."
MEDALS FROM THE QUEEN
When disco died out in the late 1970s, the Bee Gees suffered a backlash. But the brothers were never defensive. Maurice once recalled John Lennon telling him he wished he could have had as much success as the Bee Gees did.
The Bee Gees were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, and named Commanders of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth in 2001. The Isle of Man honoured them with a series of postage stamps in 1999. In addition to writing their own hits, they also wrote and produced for the likes of Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion and Dionne Warwick.
"Maurice was an integral part of the No. 5 best-selling act of all time," music journalist Paul Gambaccini told BBC News. "It's a major loss to music. He was one third of that unique vocal blend, so close it could only have come from brothers."
All three Bee Gees moved to the Miami area in the 1970s, and they all lived on the same street until last year when Maurice bought a $7.2 million waterfront house with 13 bedrooms. He owned a local paintball shop, Commander Mo's.
